At the meeting, Yang Fan, director of aquatic technology of Angel Yeast Co., Ltd., made a report on the "New Scheme for the Application of Yeast Active Substances in Aquatic Healthy Aquaculture":
The significance of yeast hydrolysate is that after yeast digestion, it not only improves protein utilization, but also gives full play to the functional characteristics of yeast products. Since 2018, products represented by subdivided yeast hydrolysates and positioned as functional protein raw materials have gradually emerged, changing the past application methods as feed functional additives or small raw materials.
The experimental results showed that the flavored amino acid content of yeast hydrolysate was significantly more than that of squid by-products, and in the evaluation of the feed intake of Nile tilapia, the amount of food intake increased significantly with the increase of yeast hydrolysate addition. At the same time, yeast hydrolysate helps to optimize the structure of the intestinal flora of Penaeus vannamei and reduces the content of Vibrio intestinalis in shrimp. We also found that replacing some fishmeal with yeast hydrolysate + mixed plant protein ingredients in feed not only improved shrimp growth performance, feeding performance and improved intestinal environment, but also saved formulation costs.
With the further research and understanding of yeast hydrolysates, its functional side will be gradually excavated, and new products such as nucleotide-acidated yeast hydrolysates, trace-rich yeast hydrolysates, glutathione yeast hydrolysates, GABA hydrolysates and so on may appear in the future.
