The Dusty Files Series – Hunting Down the Ghosts

On December 17, 1948, the Ministry of Public Security of the Northeast Administrative Committee stationed in Shenyang received a real-name report letter from the city, reporting that a killer code-named "Ghost" of the former Japanese Kwantung Army's Special High School Action Team had fled into hiding on the eve of the end of Japan's war of aggression against China, and had been wanted by the Soviet army, the Kuomintang regime, and the Communist regime in charge of northeast China, and had disappeared without a trace; two months earlier, someone had seen this person in Harbin, so he specially reported to the Ministry of Public Security, imploring him to be arrested, brought to justice, and avenged the victims.

A week later, the Ministry of Public Security of the Northeast Administrative Commission forwarded the letter to the Harbin Municipal Public Security Bureau, requesting that the clue be used to "conduct a detailed visit to the whole city of Harbin and report the results." Huang Huaqing, director of the Harbin Municipal Public Security Bureau, gave instructions on this, asking the letter and the relevant materials of the "ghost" to reach the relevant departments of the public security system, requiring attention to the intelligence clues related to the "ghost", and if the criminal is found, he will be immediately arrested and arrested.

The Secretariat of the Harbin Municipal Public Security Bureau was ordered to produce an internal circular, which was issued to the 11 public security sub-bureaus in the city on December 27, as well as to the public security departments, public security corps, traffic police brigades, public security cadre schools and homeless correctional homes directly under the municipal bureau.

On the ice and snow of the northern country, the tentacles of the reconnaissance "ghost" quietly reached out in all directions...

Why did he run away?

On the evening of December 28, 1948, the police on duty at the Harbin Nomadic Correctional Institution found that there was one less person when they called out the correctional staff late. Subsequently, a search was conducted throughout the hospital, and no one was found, so it was judged that the subject of the corrections had escaped.

Checking the register, the person who escaped was named Liu Zhijun, an unemployed vagrant, who was detained by the patrolling police of the Municipal Bureau Public Security Corps in late last month and sent to the correctional center for examination and re-education.

The correctional home is not a prison, the facilities are very simple, the phenomenon of escape occurs every three to five minutes, and the object of correction is not the prisoner, so the police on duty do not pay special attention to this. Concerned about this was Tong Shou, an office officer who had come to work the day shift the next day, who was in charge of the writing work of the correctional institution. Yesterday Tong Shou was on a break, so as soon as he went to work, he was busy registering yesterday's letters, one of which was the circular issued by the city bureau on the investigation of the "ghost". The circular has been read by the hospital leaders and should be archived after registration. After registering the letter, Tong Shou made a summary excerpt from the duty records of the previous day handed over by the squadrons, and only then did he know that last night a correctional officer named Liu Zhijun had escaped.

After doing all this, when Tong Shou went to the stove to boil the water, he found that there was no smoke in the room today. I asked my colleagues and said that the stove that often leaked smoke had been repaired yesterday, and the person who repaired it was Liu Zhijun, who escaped last night. Tong Shou was a brain-wielding man, and he immediately thought about whether Liu Zhijun's sudden escape was related to his coming to the office yesterday to repair the stove. The reason why Liu Zhijun said that he "suddenly escaped" was because after he was admitted to the hospital, he was found to be a technical all-rounder, and all kinds of handicraft work could be afforded, so he was often called to the office to do chores, change window glass, bind materials, repair carpets, etc. Before doing work, he did not run away, how could he run away at night after working during the day? Tong Shou then remembered the city bureau's co-investigation notice, and asked his colleague whether it was possible to secretly read this notice when Tong Shou came to repair the stove yesterday. Colleagues recalled, said that the dean opened the notice after sending it on your desk, yesterday the office had a lot of things, Liu Zhijun repaired the stove when there was no police in the room, so this possibility was not ruled out. Of course, if you want to eat accurately, you can ask the other two people who have come to build the stove together.

Tong Shou really went to the squadron to find the two men to inquire, and confirmed that Liu Zhijun did sneak a look at the report yesterday when there was no police in the office. In this way, Tong Shou felt that there might be a problem here. He thought about it for a moment, so he went to report his doubts to the leaders of the hospital: Will Liu Zhijun be the "ghost" of the Kwantung Army killer?

The leader of the correctional institution was deeply impressed, so he immediately reported it to the city bureau. At that time, the municipal bureau had not yet set up a special case team, and even did not arrange special personnel to inquire about this matter, and replied that your correctional institution, like the sub-bureau, is a subordinate unit of the municipal bureau, and now that suspicious clues have been found, you can first investigate it, if there is an eyebrow, report it, and then the municipal bureau will decide how to deploy it next.

The investigation was given to Tong Shou, a young policeman with a high school education who had participated in public security work for two years but had never conducted investigations. On the train to Shenyang, Tong Shou carefully read the materials attached to the circular and had a general understanding of the "ghost": his real name was Park Liben, who was born in a family of Korean bodyguards on the outskirts of Fengtian (Shenyang), 28 years old, learned martial arts since childhood, and was a good fighter. In 1939, the 19-year-old Park Liben was recruited as an action agent by the Special High School of the Japanese Kwantung Army and received special training, because of his excellent achievements and sinister and vicious nature, the Special High School arranged him in the "Invisible Execution Group" specializing in secret assassinations, code-named "Ghost", to assassinate underground personnel of the Communist Party of China, the Anti-Japanese League, the Soviet Union, the Kuomintang and other personnel. According to the secret records of the Kwantung Army that were transferred to the Chinese communists after the Soviet army was captured, as many as 44 people were assassinated by the "ghost" himself. The true face of the agent of the "Invisible Execution Group" was strictly kept secret by the Kwantung Army, so even his photo was not left in the archives. Tong Shou went to Shenyang to ask the informant about the appearance of the "ghost" in order to compare it with the Liu Zhijun who escaped from the correctional home, which was the only clue he could investigate.

After Tong Shou arrived in Shenyang, he met the whistleblower Wang Xingrong, and through Wang found Choe Jeong-chi, a Korean woman who had seen Park Liben on the streets of Harbin two months ago. Choi and Park Liben's family have some distant relatives, but they have long ceased to be in contact. Two months ago, she went to Harbin to visit her son, who was driving a car at the Railway Bureau, and his son drove her for a ride on the street, and accidentally saw Park Liben walking side by side with a woman and talking. Choi, a rural woman, did not know that Park Liben later worked as a killer in the Kwantung Army and did not react at that time. After returning to Shenyang, when I recently had a small talk with the family of Wang Xingrong, a primary school teacher who was close to my children, I talked about meeting Park Liben. Wang knew of Park Liben's crime, so he wrote a whistleblower letter to the police.

Tong Shou inquired about Park Liben's appearance and physical posture, and felt that there was almost no difference between him and the Liu Zhijun who escaped, so he returned to Harbin to report the situation to the leaders of the correctional institution. The leaders of the correctional institution immediately reported to the municipal bureau overnight: Liu Zhijun, the subject of the correctional education who escaped from the hospital on December 28, was initially confirmed by the investigation that he was the "ghost" Park Liben, the target of arrest reported by the municipal bureau.

Defeat at the ambush

Huang Huaqing, director of the Harbin Municipal Public Security Bureau, made arrangements for the detection of "ghosts" as soon as they reported on the situation of the "ghosts" in the nomadic correctional homes: The public security corps, the public security punishment team, and the correctional home each sent a police officer to form an investigation team, and the police officers sent by the criminal team to preside over the investigation of the "ghosts" were set up in the correctional institutions.

On the morning of New Year's Day, Zhang Shengbao of the criminal team and Jia Xueyou of the Public Security Corps came to the correctional home and met with Tong Shou, a police officer assigned by the correctional unit to participate in the investigation team, and began to work. All three were young policemen in their early twenties, and Zhang Shengbao, who joined the public security work after the liberation of Harbin, was a criminal police officer. Jacky Jia's specialty is grappling, he comes from a martial arts family, learned martial arts since childhood, and has an extraordinary kung fu. The Public Security Corps sent him out specifically to deal with the "ghosts" who were also good fighters.

The three of them analyzed the situation and decided to first convene a symposium on the part of the correctional object who had more contact with the "ghost" in the correctional institution to find out from them whether the "ghost" had revealed his social relations outside since he was admitted to the hospital, and then used this as a clue to carry out the next step.

A clue was obtained at the symposium: "Ghost" once told someone that he had a good friend in Acheng County, a suburb of Harbin, and was a beautiful widow who had been in a relationship for many years.

Zhang Shengbao didn't say a word and got a carriage to go straight to Acheng. When you get there, go to the county public security bureau first, show the official documents, and ask for assistance. There was enthusiastic support and immediately let the public security office (later the police station) investigate. According to the characteristics of the "beautiful widow", it was already in less than two hours: the woman named Zhao Cui'e opened a small grocery store on Jindu Street in the county town.

The investigators consulted with the police of the public security office, and instead of going to the door to investigate directly, they quietly found several of Zhao Cui'e's neighbors and asked if any strangers had come to zhao Cui'e. A neighbor reported that a man had come to the door the afternoon before yesterday to find Zhao Cui'e, and another neighbor said that she had seen the man sitting in the store hall talking to Zhao Cui'e yesterday evening. The investigator listened and decided that the man was a "ghost".

So they were arrested, and the county public security bureau sent four plainclothes, armed with pistols, scattered to Zhao's neighbors, and three investigators from Harbin City came to contact Zhao Cui'e. Among the three, criminal police officer Zhang Shengbao has had such practice, and people are active and sing the protagonist. He came to the small shop, laughed before speaking, and called him "sister-in-law". That Zhao Cui'e stared at him and looked at him, only to feel confused, saying who you are, I don't know you.

Zhang Shengbao said, "Sister-in-law, you don't know me, but I know you, and I often hear Brother Park nagging you." ”

Zhao Cui'e did not know that Park Liben was a former killer of the Kwantung Army and now a fugitive, so she was not a little wary, and when she heard "Brother Park", she nodded: "Oh, it turned out to be Li Ben's friend." ”

"Yes, Brother Park asked me to come over here to meet him, is he there?"

Choi Said That Park Liben was here with her, but at the moment he went out to run an errand and invited Zhang Shengbao and the three of them to sit in the store for a while. The investigator, seeing that he did not look like a liar, decided to wait in the shop. This was also a preconceived consideration, if Park Liben was not there but wanted to return, the three of them would wait in the store, and the four outside stared at the store door, and when Park Liben returned, a surprise interior copy could be taken down.

Zhang Shengbao and the three of them waited for about half an hour, and when they were thinking about why Park Liben had not returned, suddenly there were a few gunshots outside, and they knew that the situation had changed, and hurriedly got up and rushed to the street. In the twilight, I saw a plainclothes man lying on the ground with his hands on his abdomen and groaning, and the other three had already fired their guns and headed straight south.

It turned out that when the "ghost" returned, the four plainclothes people outside had already concluded that this person was the suspect. The plainclothes man crouching next door couldn't hold back the excitement, he just wanted to catch it by hand, and went out half a beat early. The shops in the harsh winter season of the northern country are closed, and when the "ghost" is reaching for the door, he suddenly sees a man flashing in the next room, he is a bird of fright, naturally maintains a vigilance, and immediately retracts his hand to leave. The plainclothes saw that the situation was not right, and without saying a word, he pulled out his pistol and pounced on it. The "ghost" saw that it was not right, and the lightning kicked the plainclothes over, and he wanted to lean over to grab the plainclothes pistol, but was frightened by the other three plainclothes guns that had already pounced out of the ambush point, and then pulled out his legs and ran away.

At the moment, Zhang Shengbao's three people also pulled out their guns and rushed to chase. But the well-trained "ghost" ran wildly through the alley climbing the wall in the twilight, and soon got out of the sight of the pursuers.

Although the Acheng County Public Security Bureau immediately dispatched police forces and militia hundreds of people to search and chase away overnight, no trace of the "ghost" was found.

Turn to Suihua

After some deliberation, the three members of the investigation team decided to send one person to the county public security bureau to call the Harbin City Public Security Bureau to report the situation, requesting that the "ghost" be immediately controlled in and around the city to strictly prevent the "ghost" from escaping; the other two went to Zhao Cui'e to learn about the situation and see if they could find a clue.

At this time, Zhao Cui'e learned that the friend who had been with her for several years turned out to be a murderous demon who did not blink, and after a while of fear, she immediately decided to cooperate with the investigators to arrest the "ghost". So the investigator talked to her and got the following information-

"Ghost" was the acquaintance of Zhao Cui'e in Suihua that autumn seven years ago, when Zhao Cui'e and three other men went to Suihua, where their mother's family was located, to run a single gang. A group of four people left Suihua and did not go a few miles, they encountered a group of bandits armed with large knives and spears, without saying a word, they hung up the three men first, and when they saw Zhao Cui'e's beauty, even people took the goods and robbed them. At this time, Park Liben happened to pass by, and after drawing his gun a few times, he killed the bandit and scared away. After Park Liben saved Choi Tri-e, he simply sent her back to Acheng. Since then, the two have become friends. Park Liben told Zhao Cui'e that he was a native of Xinmin County, and that he was a housekeeper for the landlord Lao Cai, and that the owner was a bodyguard when he went out. This time, the owner stayed at Suihua's friend, and the letter asked him to replace the bodyguard that the owner had taken out.

Since then, Park Liben has come to Acheng two or three times a year, and there is no rule on the interval and the time spent, there are long and short, and the shortest time is less than a month. Every time she came, Zhao Cui'e would always treat him as a relative and serve him carefully. Park Liben would give her some gifts every time, ranging in value from small to large, the smallest being a hare and the largest being two gold bars.

Zhao Cui'e remembered that Park Liben had never said a word about her situation in recent years, except for revealing her situation to the landlord Lao Cai as a nursing home, and she did not have the curiosity to inquire further. Every time the two met, it was Zhao Cui'e who said a lot, nagging and talking non-stop, park Liben just listened quietly, never interrupted her. Park Liben occasionally talks about some gossip, which is also a matter of the jianghu and never involves his own situation. However, this time Park Liben came over with some exceptions, and as soon as they met, they asked Zhao Cui'e about Suihua and asked in detail. While drinking in the evening, Park Liben asked about the latest situation of a Langzhong surnamed Jin in Suihua. It was a well-known local Traditional Chinese medicine doctor, living in Zhao Cui'e's mother's home is not far away, Zhao Cui'e said that half a month ago she just returned to her mother's home, saw Jin Langzhong still open a clinic to sit in the hall to consult, there are still many people seeking medical treatment.

Park Liben came on December 30 this time, making an exception by visiting the door with his bare hands. He apologized for this, explaining that his owner had been killed by a poor stick fight, and that he had let the family out of the hoard, in a hurry, and had not prepared gifts. But he put some debts outside, and after a few days of rest, he will go to collect them, and then he will be able to buy decent gifts. Zhao Cui'e listened to her heart with some joy, not for Park Liben promised to give her a "decent gift", but thinking that Park Liben might consider settling down here, and the two would simply become relatives. Unexpectedly, park Liben was actually a blood-debt killer in the Kwantung Army!

Based on the above situation, the investigators believed that Park Liben asked Cho Thuy E about the situation of the Kim Lang-jung in Sui-hwa, and later talked about the "debt", and it seems that it is very likely that he hid his property in Kim Lang-jung. In this way, this guy may go to Suihua to find Jin Langzhong and take the property as a fee for escape. Therefore, it is necessary for the investigation team to rush to Suihua immediately.

The Acheng County Public Security Bureau vigorously supported the investigation team, managed to transfer the only small jeep in the county at that time, and sent three investigators to Suihua overnight. After finding Jinlangzhong's clinic in Suihua County, the three stayed at a nearby hotel and then went to the county public security bureau to ask for assistance. The county bureau said that it knew that Jin Langzhong had no crimes in history, and he was very moralistic. With regard to the investigation of the "ghost," the county bureau immediately made arrangements for the investigators in Harbin City to rest first and let them do the preliminary investigation.

After the investigators woke up after sleeping for more than two hours, the plainclothes of the county bureau had completed the investigation: no one had been to the Jinlang Central Office last night, and now they were sitting in the clinic normally. The investigators discussed and decided to quietly summon Jin Langzhong.

At noon, Jin Langzhong was invited to the Public Security Bureau for investigation. Asked if he knew Park Li-ben, he looked surprised and couldn't stop shaking his head.

So, what about Liu Zhijun? This time I nodded, said I know, is a friend I made three years ago, he used to be a bodyguard, good kung fu, not talented, but also practiced boxing and kicks for a few days, the two rarely get together when they talk about national skills.

So has this person named Liu Zhijun contacted you in the past few days? He shook his head again, and then bowed his hand to ask: "Don't dare to ask more, has Mr. Liu done anything illegal?" ”

Before answering this question, the investigator first asked the physical appearance of "Mr. Liu", confirmed that it was indeed a "ghost", and then revealed his true identity. After Jin Langzhong was shocked, he immediately blamed himself for "making friends carelessly", saying that the "ghost" had not been in contact since he came once a year ago. When the "ghost" came over a year ago, he placed a small wooden box here. At that time, the "ghost" opened it to him, and there were 4 gold bars in it, a total of twenty-two gold, and when he came to pick it up, he would be given a number of them as storage fees depending on the length of the storage time.

Jin Langzhong immediately went home and took the small wooden box, which also had the seal on it that Jin Langzhong had asked the "ghost" to sign his name and the number of gold bars. Opened, sure enough, it was 4 gold bars.

Therefore, the investigators thought that the "ghost" would definitely come to Jinlangzhong to get the small wooden box, so he did the work on Jinlangzhong and asked him to cooperate with the arrest at that time. Jin Langzhong agreed, saying that even if there was a risk of death, he would also exert this force.

The investigators also contacted the county bureau and made arrangements for the ambush.

However, after three days of squatting, the "ghost" did not appear.

The devil is caught

The detective team analyzed the situation, and at first it was decided that the "ghost" had no possibility of not coming to Jinlangzhong to get gold, but this confidence finally disappeared after most of the day on the fourth day. Tong Shou, who was good at using his brain, suddenly thought of another possibility: would the "ghost" have awakened to the fact that his words in Zhao Cui'e's place will be mastered by me, and cancel the plan he has already made and not come to Suihua? As soon as he said, Zhang Shengbao and Jia Xueyou both thought that there was such a possibility.

So, what's next? After deliberating, the three of them decided that the situation of the "ghost" could only be investigated from the people he had been in contact with. Therefore, a decision was made immediately: Zhang Sheng reserved to talk to Jin Langzhong again on Suihua's side; Tong Shou and Jia Xueyou immediately returned to Ha City and went to the nomadic correctional institution to find out from the correctional staff whether the "ghost" had left any clues.

The result of the two divisions of soldiers was that there were no new clues to be provided on the side of Jin Langzhong, and someone in the correctional home had provided a situation to the investigators, saying that the "ghost" had inadvertently told people that he had an iron brother in Harbin nicknamed "Black Bear" and was a Western chef.

At this time, it was noon on January 7, 1949, Zhang Shengbao, after Entrusting his public security colleagues there to pay attention to JinLangzhong's side without harvesting in Suihua, returned to Harbin overnight, and the three investigators analyzed the situation and came up with a view that the "ghost" might have arrived in Harbin overnight after escaping from Acheng and hiding in the "black bear". In this way, it is time to check the "black bear" next.

For the police, it is relatively easy to find a fixed object with a nickname and a profession. Two hours later, it was found out that the "black bear" was working as a chef at a White Russian"," a White Russian-owned "Daut Western Restaurant, a man named Choi Dapeng, a Korean who had not worked since New Year's Day and was said to have asked his boss for leave.

The investigator then went to Cui Dapeng's house, asked the owner of the Western restaurant for the address, and looked for it, but it was the iron general who opened the door. When asked by the neighbors, Fang knew that Cui Dapeng was a bachelor who had always lived alone, and no one could say where he went. So, has anyone seen him since New Year's Day? When neighbors inquired, they all said they hadn't seen it. In this way, although the investigators were a little disappointed, they still had a sense of stability in their hearts, because according to this situation, Cui Dapeng left the residence on New Year's Day. The "ghost" was resisting arrest and fleeing from Acheng on the evening of New Year's Day, even if he had a car to catch to the side of Cui Dapeng in Hashi, he only had to take a breath of cold air against a large iron lock.

Of course, Cui Dapeng is the only clue at this moment, and since the "ghost" is still thinking about this person in the correctional home, it shows that the relationship between the two is by no means a general friend. So, try to find this chef.

The investigator went back to the Western restaurant, asked a few employees, and said that Cui Dapeng might have gone to Songyuan, because before New Year's Day, he had told someone that he had a sister in Songyuan, and he had not been in good health recently, and he came to ask him to go. Zhang Shengbao simply paid for a few dishes and a bottle of wine, saying that the three of us were eating and discussing what to do next.

In hindsight, it is also thanks to Zhang Shengbao's temporary idea of eating. Just as they were drinking, a small cook who had been questioned earlier came out of the kitchen and said comrade police officer that I have a situation to report to you. What's the situation? On the evening of the 2nd, someone once came to the Western restaurant to inquire where Cui Dapeng had gone.

The Scout smelled one of the agitations: Oh! What kind of person does it look like? The little chef said that it was a korean dressed woman, about thirty years old, and it seemed that this woman did not know Choi Dapeng. Why? Because when she asked, she was standing in front of the large advertisement photo of Cui Dapeng holding a pot of dishes in the store hall, and she faced the photo with a look of indifference.

The 17-year-old cook, a naturally attentive man, not only noticed this, but also provided the investigator with another detail: he seemed to have heard the woman say hello to a vendor at the door of the western restaurant when she went out, and you should probably know her when she went out. This was an important clue, and it was because of this clue that the "ghost" was later caught. The cook was so impressed by this that the investigators became police officers on the recommendation of Zhang Shengbao when the Public Security Bureau recruited new police officers six months later.

The investigator then went to investigate the vendor outside the door. There are usually three or four vendors outside this western restaurant, asking one by one, and the cigarette seller said that he said hello to Guan Chunhua that day. Guan Chunhua is the woman who went to the Western restaurant to inquire about chef Cui Dapeng, and the vendor said that she lived in Anfeng Street in Daoli District, where he used to live, and it was close to each other, and it was not bad. So, what kind of person is this Guan Chunhua? The vendor said she was selling pancakes, married to a husband who was a guy from a big car dealership, often ran outside in the car, and never had children.

The investigator immediately thought of the Zhao widow in Acheng, the husband of Guan Chunhua in front of her was often outside, she had the convenience of staying in the accommodation, was it that the "ghost" was hiding in her for a few days? This needs to be investigated immediately.

It was already 8 p.m., but the investigators still went to the public security office on Guan Chunhua's side. At that time, Harbin had been liberated for nearly three years, and a relatively comprehensive and effective household registration management system had been established, and all outsiders who stayed had to report a temporary household registration to the public security office. The public security office checked and said that Guan Chunhua's family had never been to outsiders. So, will there be outsiders who deliberately do not report a temporary account? The person in charge of the duty of the public security office was a very serious policeman, and he immediately assigned a small policeman to ride a bicycle to call the household registration police from home to the office and directly accept the investigators' questioning. The household registration police said that he was in the hutongs every day and had never heard of guan Chunhua's family coming to outsiders. Zhang Shengbao said that the case is very serious, so you had better choose a more reliable one from Guan Chunhua's neighbors and quietly invite them here, and we will find out in person.

In less than half an hour, The resident group leader Wang Dajie, who was opposite Guan Chunhua, was sitting in front of the investigators. When asked, she said that there was really no one living in Guan Chunhua's house temporarily, and no one had come to visit the door since New Year's Day.

The clue was broken, but the investigators still stared at Guan Chunhua. The three of them discussed and decided to follow Guan Chunhua from the next morning to see what she was doing from morning to night.

As a result of the tracking, it was found that Guan Chunhua went to the "Daute West Restaurant" again after selling pancakes at noon, and then went to a blacksmith shop on Ash River Street in Nangang District, but did not enter the door, only beckoned the blacksmith master to the door, muttered two words in a low voice, and left, directly home. Zhang Shengbao asked Tong Shou to learn about the blacksmith, and he and Jia Xueyou continued to monitor Guan Chunhua. In the afternoon, Guan Chunhua did not go out.

Tong Shou learned through the police that the blacksmith was Guan Chunhua's uncle. Investigators analyzed that Guan Chunhua went out early in the morning to sell pancakes, busy until noon and did not go home, after going to the Western restaurant, he also had to run a trip to the blacksmith shop, just to say two sentences, it seems that these two sentences are related to the Western restaurant, that is to say, the blacksmith and the "ghost" are related, and the "ghost" may even be hidden in the blacksmith shop.

That night, investigators quietly summoned Guan Chunhua through the public security office. Guan Chunhua quickly made an explanation: she knew "Liu Zhijun" last summer, the other party was generous, and she was greedy for money by nature, and the two hit it off. She did not know where "Liu Zhijun" lived, and sometimes her husband went to her house for the night when he was out of the car. Later, the other party disappeared. On the morning of the second day of January, "Liu Zhijun" suddenly appeared in front of her pancake stall, saying that he had escaped from the penitentiary and had to find a place to hide first, so she led him to the blacksmith's uncle and quietly settled down. "Liu Zhijun" said that he decided to go to Guannei, but the money in hand was hidden in the chef of the Western restaurant, Cui Dapeng, and asked her to go and deliver a word to Cui Dapeng and meet after agreeing on a time and place. She went to the Western restaurant that day, but Cui Dapeng did not go to work. "Liu Zhijun" replied, asking her to go again in a few days. After closing the stall at noon today, she went again, and Cui Dapeng had not yet gone to work, so she went to the blacksmith to call back.

Without further ado, the investigation team immediately reported the situation to the leaders and requested that additional personnel be sent to arrest the "ghost" overnight, and the leader immediately approved it. In view of the "extraordinary performance" of the "ghost" when resisting arrest in Acheng, this time it was natural to match the "treatment" of heavyweight objects, not only dispatched criminal police, but also transferred two squads from the public security corps.

At midnight that day, the arrest operation began. First surround the blacksmith shop, and then a group of criminal police officers escort Guan Chunhua to the door. When her blacksmith uncle opened the door, the crowd rushed in. In the house, the "ghost" who had been startled by sleeping with clothes listened to the movement and did not listen to the movement, hid behind the door with a sledgehammer in hand, and smashed it head-on at Jia Xueyou, who was the first to enter, and was flashed by Jia Xueyou. Jia Xueyou has a good hand, held back for many days at this moment just play, did not wait for the second time to pounce on and twist the other party. When the pair of kung fu masters wrestled together, the other criminal police intervened, so there was no suspense in the victory or defeat.

After the "ghost" was arrested, he confessed to his accumulated blood debts, and also confessed the gold and silver treasures hidden by his unsuspecting friends like Zhao Cui'e and Cui Dapeng in the seven northeastern regions, which was equivalent to a total of 230 taels of gold.

On September 26, 1949, the "ghost" was sentenced to death and executed by firing squad in Shenyang, where the former Kwantung Army Headquarters was stationed.
