Li He was born in the sixth year of Emperor Dezong of Tang's reign, in a dilapidated aristocratic family in Changgu, Fuchang County, whose distant ancestor was Li Liang, the uncle of Tang Gaozu Li Yuan, who belonged to the distant branch of tang zong's family, and when Wu Zetian was in power, he killed a large number of Gaozu's descendants, and by the time of Li He's father, Li Jinsu, he was already far away from the world, and his family was lost in the middle of the road, and he was hidden in Changgu. During the three years of the Gregorian calendar, he had met his cousin Du Fu in public.

But it increased life experience, expanded the field of knowledge, and achieved a bountiful harvest in poetry creation. The so-called "deeply pierce the evils of the world, cut to the hidden of the world."

Due to the hopelessness of the transfer, the achievement of the name is not successful, and the grief and anger are deepening. Coupled with the illness of his wife, Li He was depressed and sick, and Yuan He returned to Changgu to recuperate for a period of time after falling ill in the spring of the eighth year. But he was not willing to sink, and he traveled south, hoping to show his talents in Southern Chu or Wuyue. The result is only to see that the officialdom is deceitful, the ordinary people are living in poverty, and they are powerless.

He decided to resign from his post as Feng Lilang and return to Changgu. After that, at the recommendation of Zhang Che of Luzhou, he served as a staff member for 3 years, serving as a clerk for the Army of Xi Shimei in the Zhaoyi Army, helping to work for the office.

In the eleventh year of Yuan He, due to the rampant separatist forces in the northern domain, Xi Shimei rebelled and went to Luoyang to recuperate, and his friend Zhang Che also withdrew back to Chang'an. Li He had no choice but to support his sick body and return to the former residence of Changgu to sort out the poems he had stored, and soon he died of illness at the age of twenty-seven.
