According to the data released by the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People's Congress, the daily domestic waste generated by Chengdu has reached more than 18,000 tons, and with the growth of the population, it is increasing at a rate of about 8% per year, and the difficulty of treatment is increasing.
In order to improve this situation, Xie Guowen, founder of Sichuan Yijiayi Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. in Qingyang District, Chengdu, created a one-stop overall solution brand for garbage classification, "Collecting Rabbit", which is committed to promoting the reduction, recycling and harmless treatment of domestic waste. They put smart recycling bins in the community as a unit, use the point mechanism, publicity and education and door-to-door recycling to reduce the threshold of residents' garbage classification, and process the classified garbage into products for sale, and build a complete set of "garbage classification - recycling - sales" system.
According to Xie Guowen, at present, the collection rabbit has reached cooperation with 65 communities in Qingyang District, Jinjiang District, Jinniu District, Longquan District and other places in Chengdu, with more than 100,000 Mini Program users and 11,000 tons of garbage processed.
Waste into products, to create a one-stop solution
"In my eyes, all waste can be turned into products." Xie Guowen said to 36Kr.
In order to realize his environmental protection dream, in 2016, he closed his restaurant and went to Wuhan, Dalian, Beijing, Mianyang and other places for a detailed investigation.
After investigation, he found that the pain point of the domestic garbage classification industry lies in the low overall operation efficiency and low utilization rate, which is reflected in the cooperation of residents, enterprises and the government. First of all, the residents' awareness of classification is weak, often throwing garbage into the barrel, resulting in large workload, high difficulty and high operating costs of follow-up garbage screening and classification of mid-end enterprises; secondly, the classified non-recyclable garbage is transported by the cleaning and transportation department for centralized incineration and landfill, resulting in its value being underutilized, and also generating a lot of additional expenses.
In order to solve these pain points, after more than three years of exploration, the collection rabbit has built a set of "classification collection→ classification transportation→ classification disposal→ reproduction→ commodity sales" of "garbage classification and recycling- and recycling".
In this system, the collection rabbit is placed in the community as a unit of two classification and four classification intelligent recycling bins, and the recycling bin can automatically identify the type of garbage put by residents and weigh it, once the garbage that does not meet the classification of the recycling bin is identified, the system will warn. When the recyclables in the box reach 80%, the system will also automatically send a text message to remind the nearby recyclers to transport the garbage to the environmental protection house for temporary storage, and then dispatch a special car to transport the garbage classification to the vein industrial park.
The park includes a large-scale garbage disposal center for storing recyclables, a recycling resource sorting center for hazardous waste, and a disposal center for all organic matter storing domestic garbage, garden green garbage, livestock manure, agricultural waste and other garbage. When these three kinds of garbage form a certain scale, the collecting rabbit will transport the recyclables and hazardous waste to third-party manufacturers and waste-friendly enterprises, and then transport the organic matter waste to its own factory for enzymatic digestion, decomposition, conversion into nano-enzyme carbon fertilizer or for the development of rabbit colin (biodynamic regulatory) and other integrated products.
After the nano-enzyme carbon fertilizer and rabbit colin leave the factory, the harvest rabbit will not be sold directly to C-end consumers, but cooperate with growers and planting enterprises to produce green products such as vegetables and fruits, and then put them on the shelves to a convenient supermarket or online mall for sale, forming an ecological closed loop of "residents buying products→ use, generating garbage→ putting intelligent recycling bins→ classified transportation→ classified disposal→ reproduction→ commodity sales".
As for why it is necessary to build a whole process of garbage disposal from classification, recycling to sales, Xie Guowen said that this is based on two considerations: one is that the various links of the garbage classification industry chain are cumbersome and complex, and it is difficult to solve the problem of overall operational inefficiency by relying only on a single business; second, most Chinese people have limited psychological tolerance for garbage after garbage reproduction under the trend of new consumerism, in order to better ensure that garbage recycling and reuse products enter the ecological closed loop, it is necessary to open up and implement the last kilometer of sales links.
People-oriented, "points mechanism + publicity and education" two-pronged approach
The system has been built, but the core of the implementation of garbage classification is still "people". In the past, many garbage sorting projects seemed to be in full swing, but they were tragically destroyed overnight, the biggest reason was that they failed to cooperate, mobilize and cultivate the residents' awareness of classification, and the collection of rabbits proposed another solution.
In terms of terminal hardware, the classification settings of the collection rabbit intelligent recycling box are more "grounded". At present, the classification of recyclables, hazardous waste, dry garbage, and wet garbage has been proved to make it more difficult for residents to perform the contract, making it difficult to adhere to it. According to the value of garbage and the needs of residents, the collection rabbit has developed four classified intelligent recycling bins for paper, textiles, metal plastics and hazardous waste, and two classified intelligent recycling bins for kitchen waste and other garbage, which greatly reduces the threshold of residents' garbage classification.
In terms of software, there is also a complete set of solutions for collecting rabbits. Residents can log in to their personal accounts through face recognition, phone numbers or WeChat in the smart recycling bin, obtain the corresponding points after the successful garbage delivery, and then go to the convenience supermarket, mini program or recycling cabinet in the community to exchange daily necessities or directly withdraw cash, forming a closed loop.
In terms of service, the collection of rabbits is also more meticulous. What if there is too much garbage and you don't want to carry it downstairs and throw it into the smart recycling bin? Collecting rabbits also provides a small program appointment door-to-door recycling service, which opens up the last kilometer of garbage classification and greatly mobilizes the enthusiasm of residents to participate.
In terms of publicity and education, the collection of rabbits starts with dolls. Xie Guowen realized that adults have formed a set of inherent logic and habits, and it is difficult to change, but teenagers are different. In order to cultivate children's awareness of garbage sorting, collecting rabbits cooperates with the school to hold handicraft activities, leading children to the collection rabbit environmental protection house to use cleaning and disinfection waste to make handicrafts, and cultivate their awareness and habit of turning waste into treasure.
