"Ordinary Soldier"
In May 1942, an unusual letter was delivered to the desk of Stalin, the Supreme Commander of the Soviet Union.
At the age of 20, Mao Anying, who was studying in the Soviet Union, took the initiative to ask for help, and expressed in the letter a strong desire to go to the front line of the revolution.
However, in the more than ten days since the letter was sent, Mao Anying has not received a reply. Was the letter not delivered, or did Stalin not open the letter? Or stalin just saw it as a young man's whim...
Just when Mao Anying was in a hurry, General Manuelsky, deputy director of the Soviet Political Department, came to the International Children's Hospital to visit the children of various countries, and Mao Anying felt that his opportunity had come.
He managed to find Manuelsky and talked endlessly with the general about the development of the Great Patriotic War and his views on the situation in the world. "Xie Liaosha (Note: Mao Anying's foreign name), you are very prominent, you have analyzed and judged the form of the war and the course of the war!" It was only at this time that Mao Anying finally expressed his wish - to go to the front.
"It's impossible! You didn't become a Soviet citizen, it wasn't your turn to go to the front! Manuelski simply refused.
"My father fought against Japanese fascism in China, stalin fought against German fascism in the Soviet Union, and the target was one. Anti-fascism is the common responsibility of the people of the whole world. Yes, I am Chinese and have not acquired Soviet citizenship, but this does not prevent me from fulfilling my internationalist responsibilities! I cannot watch the iron hooves of German fascism ravage your land, I want to avenge the murder of thousands of Soviet people. ”
Seeing that the general was still hesitating, Mao Anying stepped back and begged, "Please help me go to military school!" I want to master the skill of fighting the invaders!" That slightly immature face, with the spark of revolution burning in his eyes, moved General Manuelsky. This time, Mao Anying's request was finally answered in the affirmative.

This ordinary Chinese youth, "Seryosha", studied at the Suya Non-Commissioned Officer School, the Lenin Military School in Moscow, and the Frunze Military Academy, and joined the United Communist Party with outstanding performance, and was later awarded the rank of lieutenant. Although the Soviet anti-fascist war is nearing its end, Mao Anying, who is full of enthusiasm, still insists on joining the war, Belarus, Poland, the Czech Republic ... He is present in every battlefield. In the war-torn battlefield of Europe, the firm communist faith of a Chinese youth was tempered.
"Xie Liaosha, you, the son of Mao Zedong, are brave." After the Red Army conquered Berlin, Mao Anying was triumphant with his troops and was cordially received in Moscow by Stalin, who expressed his appreciation for the new star of the revolution. But Mao Anying humbly replied to him: "Report Comrade Stalin, I fought with the heroic Red Army, but I was just an ordinary soldier. ”
"Return to the Grassroots"
In the early spring of 1946, when the spring was cold and steep, Mao Anying returned to Yan'an, returned to the motherland that had been separated for a long time, and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year.

Mao Zedong made a new demand for his son: "You have to make up for this lesson at the Labor University!" ”
Mao Anying quickly agreed, and went to Wu Manyou's family in WuJia Zaoyuan, Erxiang, Liulin District, Yan'an County, to work.
At the first sight of Wu Manyou, Mao Anying fell in love with this simple uncle in northern Shaanxi and immediately worshiped Wu Manyou as a "teacher". Wu Manyou also warmly received this handsome young man who had returned from Moscow.

Wu Manyou is a deputy to the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the vice chairman of the Yan'an County Senate, and is busy with work and often away from home. He divided the work for his two sons: the eldest son, Wu Zhongfu, was responsible for teaching Mao Anying to cultivate the land, harvest and grind by hand, and the second son, Wu Zhonggui, was responsible for taking Mao Anying to familiarize himself with the township, city, and central organs.
On the days when Mao Anying visited his teachers and worked as farmers, Wu Zhongfu got up every morning and led Mao Anying to the mountains to reclaim the land. At first, Mao Anying would not make the head of the hammer, just pull it up, just pull it up, would not pull it back and forth from side to side, and the steps could not keep up, and the head of the hammer was not round, and the toe was on his toes. Wu Zhongfu took a step and took a step, moved and pried, repeatedly demonstrated the action, Mao Anying humbly studied, and walked a few back and forth to become proficient.
In order to dig out more than sixty slopes in the south mountain, it was necessary to clear all the wild grasses and shrubs that were full of slopes. This kind of labor intensity is difficult for ordinary people to bear, but Mao Anying is willing to endure hardships and work hard; he is diligent and inquisitive, and never lazy. Blood bubbles appeared on his hands, his wrists were shocked by the boss and the pain was unbearable, and he never flinched.

Clothes torn to sew themselves, buttons off their own embellishments, but also learn to cook on the fire, braised yellow rice dried rice, fried sauerkraut noodles, steamed rice distilled steam During his study and labor, Mao Anying did everything. Not only did he become close friends with Wu Manyou's family, but he also had a very good relationship with the helpers and descendants, regardless of each other. In the eyes of the people in the village, Mao Anying, a "high-ranking cadre", not only has no shelf, but also has a similar job.
Wu Manyou saw Mao Anying's performance in his eyes, remembered it in his heart, helped and taught him even more attentively, and always praised him every time he mentioned him to Mao Zedong. In the day-to-day labor, Mao Anying gradually learned and mastered the skills of opening up land, laying fields, milling fields, and raising fields. He was thinner and darker, but his body was stronger, and he seemed more energetic.
"Pledge yourself to the country"
"Uh-huh—" The roar of the whistle broke through the silence of the past. In October 1950, as the snow blanketed the war-torn Korean Peninsula, the mighty north wind roared through the boundless wilderness, hitting the earth with huge ice particles.
On the evening of October 7, 1950, Mao Zedong set up a family banquet to send Off Peng Dehuai, accompanied by Mao Anying. During the banquet, Mao Anying said to Peng Dehuai: "Uncle Peng, for the purpose of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea, I can have my share in fighting on the front line." Peng Dehuai disagreed as soon as he heard it: "There is a danger in going to the DPRK, US planes bomb everywhere, and construction in the rear is also a war to resist the United States and aid Korea." Mao Zedong said, "Just take him in." Kishi Can speak Russian and English, so if you go to North Korea, let him work as a translator. ”
In 1950, the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea broke out. The newly married Mao Anying entered the Korean War as he wished, and served as a Russian translator and secretary for the headquarters of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. He worked actively, conscientiously and responsibly, and quickly became familiar with the business of the organ.

In the distant battlefield, Mao Anying did not stop for a moment, and after arriving at his post, he was busy sorting out the records of the Sino-DPRK coalition meeting, working day and night. Except for a few leaders such as Peng Dehuai, who knew his background, everyone else only knew that he was a lively, simple, and capable ordinary young man.
On November 25, 1950, the sentries on the front line sounded the air defense siren, and Mao Anying hid in the air raid shelter with the large troops, but his heart was very anxious, and at the critical moment of the war, there were still many battles that needed to be reported to the chief through the war room, and the various orders of the chief were brought to the front-line troops.
The more Mao Anying thought about it, the more anxious he became, and as soon as the warning of the air raid was lifted, he rushed to the war room desperately.
The smoke of war outside had not yet dissipated, and Mao Anying was working in the war room in a race against the clock. Unexpectedly, at this moment, the cunning US military plane actually killed a rifle and dropped dozens of napalm bombs.
Inside the war room, the raging fire engulfed everything, and the war room and a large area around it were instantly shrouded in smoke. In the heat of more than a thousand degrees, only two of the four staff officers who ran in finally managed to escape. Mao Anying and operational staff officer Gao Ruixin unfortunately disappeared into the sea of fire...

After the martyr Mao Anying's sacrifice, his body was buried in the Volunteer Army Martyrs' Cemetery in Lun County, South Pyongan Province, North Korea, resting in peace on the land he defended with his blood and life during his lifetime.
The tomb of Comrade Mao Anying
"The children of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people went to the battlefield with a single order, so why should Mao Anying not go?" This sentence is still sonorous and powerful.
Zhangjiaji Village, about ten kilometers east of Yangxin County, Shandong Province, houses Mao Anying's former residence, which still retains the tables, chairs and daily necessities that Mao Anying once used. From the winter of 1947 to the spring of 1948, Mao Anying, alias Yang Yongfu, worked here. He never identified himself, and has always worn a fat old military uniform given to him by his father, writing with a pencil, and the notebook is made of colorful old paper, which appears simple and amiable, and deeply integrated into the people.
At the age of 28, Mao Anying heroically sacrificed his precious life for the revolutionary cause of the Chinese and Korean peoples, and like thousands of volunteer soldiers who left their lives in Korea, he promised the country with his life and will forever be remembered in history! The great spirit of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea that he represents will never be immortalized, and his spirit of patriotism and internationalism will forever educate and inspire our young generation.
