The earliest and longest-established normal school in Guangdong Province

author:The view of Shanwan in the big tide

At the foot of The East Han Mountain in xiangzi Bridge, Chaozhou City, a famous historical and cultural city, stands a majestic and beautiful university - Hanshan Normal University. This ancient and new school is the earliest and longest-established normal school in Guangdong Province. "The hipsters think of Han, and there are temples, and there are academies, and the plaque is Hanshan." The predecessor of Han Shi was the Hanshan Academy built in the Song Dynasty, and all the dynasties of the Song Dynasty, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties were government-run academies in the prefectures (roads, provinces, and provinces). The site of the courtyard has changed many times, until the 30th year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty (1691), the site was located on the south side of the Hanwen Ancestral Hall at the foot of Beacon Mountain, which continues to this day.

In the twenty-ninth year of the Qing Dynasty (1903), after the promulgation of the "Statute of the King Ding Normal School", China began to have a special institution for teacher education, and Hanshan Academy was changed to Huichaojia Normal School, becoming the first batch of normal schools in China and the first in Guangdong Province. Since then, the school's names have been successively called Guangdong Provincial Huichaomei Normal School, Provincial Second Normal School, Provincial Hanshan Normal School, etc., and have always been secondary normal schools. After the founding of New China, HanShi developed rapidly. In the mid-1950s, the scale of the school expanded to more than 1,200 students. In 1958, it was upgraded to a higher normal college. In 1963, it was reorganized into a secondary teacher and teacher training school. In December 1978, it resumed its specialty and became a provincial ordinary higher normal college. In December 1993, it was upgraded to a higher undergraduate normal college with the approval of the State Education Commission. In April 1998, it was listed as a bachelor's degree awarding unit.

Hansan Academy has been repeatedly migrated throughout history and has been revived and abandoned many times. The following is an overview by year:

In the eleventh year of chunxi (1251), the county sheriff Liu Xiren donated money to repair the damp and dilapidated courtyard. Soon, the academy was abandoned.

By the 15th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1278), seongnam Shuzhuang (the former site of Hanshan Academy) and the attached Han Ancestral Hall did not survive the war. In the 21st year (1284), it was rebuilt by Wang Yongwen, the governor of Chaozhou Road, also known as "Hanshan Academy", dedicated to Confucius and the sages, and attached to the Han Ancestral Hall.

In the second year of Shun (1331), due to the "shortage of camps", the general wang Yungong ordered Chen Wenzi, the head of the Seongnam Book, to "remove the old structure and make a new one", which lasted four months and the new house was completed.

In July of the following year (1332), Wu Cheng of Linchuan wrote the "Record of Hanshan Academy on Chaozhou Road", which recorded the completion of the academy, and the inscription is now in Chaozhou West Lake Park.

In the twelfth year of Zhizheng (1352), the hansan academy in the south of the city was destroyed by fire, and the Han Ancestral Hall was also abandoned.

In the 30th year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty (1691), Shi Qixian rebuilt the academy at the Ming Dynasty Imperial History Cai Mengyue Ancestral Hall on the left side of the Han Ancestral Hall at the foot of Beacon Mountain. The gate was built on the site of the workshop, renamed "Changli Academy", and the title of the hall was "Original Dao Hall". During the Kangxi Dynasty, the "Monument to Changli Academy" was established, which is now in the Hanshan Normal Academy.

In September of the 10th year of Yongzheng (1732), the prefect Long was expanded along the old site, and completed in March of the following year, renamed "Hanshan Academy". At present, the "Monument of Hanshan Academy" established during the Yongzheng Period exists in the Hanshan Normal Academy.

In the twenty-ninth year of Guangxu (1903), the case was filed and the "Hanshan Academy" was changed to "Huichaojia Normal School". The history of the ancient academy has since come to an end. Huichaojia Normal School is one of the first batch of new schools in China's modern education history to follow the example of the Western education system to train teachers.

After the victory of the Xinhai Revolution, in 1911, the "Huichaojia Normal School" was changed to the "Huichaomei Normal School of Guangdong Province".

In October 1921, the school was renamed "Guangdong Provincial Second Normal School". During the second division period, the size of the school was continuously expanded.

In 1935, the school was renamed "Guangdong Provincial Hanshan Normal School".

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Chaozhou fell in June 1939. In May, han shi was forced to move the school to Weizhai in Gugou Township, Jieyang County. At that time, Hanshi was the "only remaining provincial middle school in the Chaoshan region". In the second half of 1944, due to the imminent war, Han Shi moved to the former Jieyang County's Gray Village in the Dabei Mountains, borrowing the site of Chongzheng Primary School to run the school, and the conditions were quite difficult.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, in the spring of 1946, the Han division moved back to its original site in Chaozhou. The Senior High School department was transferred to Jinshan Middle School. In the autumn of 1958, it was upgraded to a higher normal college, named "Shantou Hanshan Normal College", for enrollment in Huichaomei area. In the autumn of 1963, the division was discontinued and returned to the middle school and teachers' training school. In 1978, with the approval of the State Council, the teacher's college was re-established, and the name of the school was "Hanshan Normal College". In December 1993, it was upgraded to an undergraduate normal college with the approval of the State Education Commission, called "Hanshan Normal College".

Hanshi is the epitome of China's teacher education system, and has experienced the development process of primary teachers, secondary teachers, higher teachers, and higher teachers in the past hundred years from 1903 to the present. The normal school with such a long continuous running continuity is the only one in Guangdong, and it is also very rare in the country.
