Mr. Ying Kaihou
On the morning of June 2, I was shocked to hear the news of Mr. Ying Qihou's death, and then I heard that Mr. Ying "did not raise a funeral, did not issue obituaries, and did not set up a spiritual hall in his home" "will". Without thinking too much, I hurriedly contacted Teacher Ma Qiaoxin's mobile phone, and the voice on the other side of the phone was mournful and hesitant, but when I heard my name, I said: "Come, you know the place, you came when you went to school." Feeling sad, my insider and I (the doctor who used to be in charge of the health of retired teachers at the school) hurriedly drove to Room 303, Building 22, near the north gate of the school.
Pay your respects to the portrait of Teacher Ying. The statue looks old, but the white eyebrow is like a touch of frost and snow on the pine, which is awe-inspiring. Afraid that Teacher Ma would be sad, I did not dare to ask her about Mr. Ying's final situation, but inquired about her physical condition. Unexpectedly, she said in a low and kind tone: "You are also in your 60s, pay attention to health." I was speechless for a moment, and my mood was by no means "touched" to describe it. Holding her hand, it felt very cold, and as she entered the topic, it gradually warmed up a little.
Teacher Ma's narration is as good as ever, rhythmic and clear. The descendants of this anti-Japanese martyr, the second lieutenant soldier of the year, and later our Chinese teacher, brought me back to my student days forty years ago. She said I had come to her house when I was in school, and I naturally remembered that scene. Our seventh and eighth grade students have a very close and harmonious relationship with the teacher, and it is common for the teacher to call the students home to give lectures. Mr. Ying's family has been here, and Ding Yaping, who has now become the director of the Film Research Institute of the China Academy of Arts, has come, and there must be other students who have entered the room to study.
He should speak at the seminar afterwards
That time I came to Mr. Ying's house probably after he moved to his house, the door homemade door number is engraved with the word "Ying House", which has the feeling of "a big family with knowledge". He summoned me to a lecture on a study I submitted, but the discussion never touched on the content of the article, but only on "some experiences" of "what happened in literature." Listening, I know that he advocates the study of literary issues when thinking deeper from the perspective of "happening". Finally, I asked, "Teacher Ying, my work... Can you give comments? He said, "Look, that's good." It involves some specialized learning, and it is not easy to say more. As far as writing is concerned, there is a little attention, there is emotion in the heart, and the pen should be made. The full text has three exclamation points, at least two of which can be omitted. Teacher Zhu Zinan of the writing class has said many times that the teachers in the department have strong writing skills and writing standards, and the first teacher should be recommended. Believe this, this may be related to the fact that he studied modern Chinese at Nan Normal University for several years. This conversation has a great influence on me, looking back at my past forty years to discuss classical literature, paying a little attention to theory, touching more on the problem of literary "meta-occurrence", and to a certain extent benefiting from Mr. Ying's fa meng; and the more than 200 papers published rarely use exclamation points, and even rarely use exclamation sentences, which have a distinct "Ying brand". Teach theory and absorb emotions, and put them into practice when the mind knows it.
Mr. Ying is very important and influential in the history of the Chinese Department of Jiangsu Normal University and later the College of Literature of Soochow University. He is a native of Cixi, Zhejiang, born in 1933, was admitted to Zhejiang University after graduating from Xiaoshi Middle School in 1950, participated in land reform in the fourth grade, and was assigned to the Chinese Department of South Normal University after the end of the phased work, and was transferred to Jiangsu Normal University a few years later to establish a department, which is one of the earliest "four gentlemen". The so-called "four gentlemen" are Mr. Qian Zhonglian of the Department of Classical Literature, Mr. Liu Kairong of the Department of Foreign Literature and Classical Literature, Mr. Ying Qihou of the Department of Linguistics and Theory of Literature and Art, and Mr. Weng Shouyuan of the Department of Linguistics. In 1952, the department was adjusted, the entire Jiangsu Normal College Chinese department merged into the Nanjing Normal College, in 1958 it was decided to rebuild the Chinese Department of Jiangsu Normal College, the first to send them to Suzhou with three students who had just graduated, which is the entire team of the Chinese Department of Jiangsu Normal College in 1958. At that time, Mr. Ying was 25 years old, young and handsome, and his style was flourishing.
When you are young, you should be enlightened
Mr. Ying came to Jiangsu Normal University and was soon drawn to join the writing team of "Basic Principles of Literature". This is the first unified textbook for the discipline of literary theory in colleges and universities in the country, and the hosts and writers are experts from Shanghai-Soviet universities and research institutes, of which most of them are Shanghai scholars, in addition to Ye Yiqun, who was then deputy director of the Shanghai Institute of Literature, there are Wang Yongsheng and Yuan Zhenyu of Fudan University, Huang Shiyu of East China Normal University, Liu Shucheng and Xu Jixi of Shanghai Normal University, Zeng Wenyuan of Shanghai Literature Research Institute, and only Ye Ziming of Nanjing University and Ying Qihou of Jiangsu Normal University in Jiangsu. The manuscript was written in early 1961 and has been revised several times since then, and has long been widely used in universities. When our 77th and 78th grade students entered the school, there were not many official teaching materials, and even fewer of them were written by scholars from Jiangsu Normal University. The weight of this book has formed the image of Mr. Ying as a scholar in the hearts of the students, and everyone expects him to walk on the podium and see its style.
His teaching is still admirable to this day, and the graduates talk about it every time. In our literary and art theory class, Mr. Ying seems to have only taught the "Introduction" part, while the course "Marxism-Leninism" was taught in its entirety. Before 1976 (teaching to workers, peasants, and soldiers), because the "Ancient Literature" class was not opened, it was taught by Mr. Qian Zhonglian, and after we enrolled in the school, Qian Shi resumed the research and teaching of ancient literature and ancient literature, and "Marxist-Leninist Literature" was taught by Mr. Ying. His language art and teaching methods are excellent, and what seems to be abstract is reduced to concreteness; what may be boring parts, all make it vivid. Listening to his lessons is a pleasure in the art of language. The "incoming talk" of each class is often carefully designed without trace. Perhaps it is from the "encounter on the road to come" into the theme, that "sense of substitution" has a vivid liveness, and the expression of rationality, humor, clean and clean, quite magical. At that time, he talked about the "quadrilateral synthesis principle of force" of literary and artistic creation, which was very academic; at that time, the academic circles had just begun to discuss Marx's "1844 Economics-Philosophy Manuscript", in which the problem of "labor alienation" had entered Mr. Ying's vision, and it was expounded in teaching, opening a clear window of knowledge and scholarship. This course was later awarded the first prize for outstanding teaching achievements in Jiangsu Province, the second prize for national outstanding teaching achievements in ordinary colleges and universities in the Ministry of Education (then known as the "National Education Commission"), and Mr. Ying was awarded the Zeng Xianzi Education Foundation Teacher Award for his excellent teaching achievements.
My relationship with Mr. Ying is relatively special. He was both his student and his teacher when he was the head of the Chinese department, and he was also a "little friend". The so-called "little friend" is a cause: young teachers of the Chinese Department like to play table tennis, and there is an "association" that is not an association; some middle-aged and elderly teachers especially like to watch football games, and often gather to discuss, so there is a "football review meeting". Mr. Ying has a literary and artistic talent since childhood, and after middle age, his interest gradually shifted to sports observation. Because his football comments are always in place and wonderful, predicting the outcome of the game is more accurate, and he is the "speaker" of each review, and everyone names him as the "president". I am a fan, the World Cup level game will be watched every vigil, they are quite interested in their comments, occasionally go to listen to the lecture, a little discussion Of Mr. Ying feels "not outrageous", he let me join, so I became a "little friend". Later, I was in charge of the work of the Faculty of Letters, he had retired, went to ask for benefits, and asked him by the way whether he still insisted on watching football games, Mr. Ying would smile: "Little friend still remembers."
The calendar on his desk was frozen on May 26, the day he left
Mr. Ying has been kind to people all his life and has never wanted to cause trouble to people. I remember that in 1997, his child Xichen had something he wanted me to help, and wanted him to say hello first, he said, "Don't add trouble to Xiao Luo." Later, when I found out, I made an appointment with Xi Chen, and as soon as I talked about it, I knew that the trust was neither a violation of principle nor a trouble, and it was quickly and smoothly resolved. This time, I saw that his "will" cared for a few "no", and "the ashes were either scattered in the rivers and lakes, or buried in trees", which was really emotional. Come without annoyance, go without getting tired, altruism first, desireless self-purification, and the one who is truly benevolent and holy.
I asked Xichen if Mr. Ying had left a legacy? If you need to organize and publish, do your best. XiChen took out Mr. Ying's many years of preparation notes, and a long-term diary, saying, "Dad instructed that these should be kept well." With Xi Chen's permission, I read the contents of the last few days of the diary. On May 18, his friend Professor Zhu Zinan passed away, and he briefly remembered it, feeling the sorrow in his heart, and then remembered it more briefly. He kept a diary every day, habitually turning the calendar over one page, and by May 26, the page was too heavy to finally have the strength to open. On June 2, Mr. Ying left us forever in his hehe west, and his treatises and these lesson preparation notes, as well as decades of diaries, are the academic and spiritual legacy left behind.
Under the glass table in front of the desk where he sat every day, pressed the poem "Sixty Portraits of Self-Titled" given to him by the "Old Man of Xuepu" (1978), the "Old Man of xuepu", and the poem "Self-titled Sixty Portraits" (inscription after the poem: Qihou Old Brother Zhengzhi), the tail of which lianyun: "Gladly stay in the green mountains, the old garden yellow flowers reflect the sunset." "This work he has treasured for more than forty years, day by day, there should be his feelings in it. I think that perhaps in "The Basic Principles of Literature" there is his academic youth, thick preparation notes, which is what he has for us, for previous students, and for the literary and art academic circles. In the diary of several decades, there are the weather of his rising sun and the sky, and there are also the landscape of the sunset and the evening sun, which are valuable wealth and are worth cherishing and studying.
On June 3, 2021, the Bamboo Xuan Disease Book was planted on the shore of Shihu Lake, and revised on the 4th.
