The Hequ Racecourse in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gan'er Province, is an advanced position in the pastoral agricultural village of Gansu Province, and the total number of horses has more than tripled since the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. After the campaign to criticize the forest and criticize the Holes, the Tibetan and Han herdsmen actively participated in criticizing Lin Biao for emulating Kong Lao'er's "self-denial ceremony" and denying the crimes of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. Everyone is determined to grasp the revolution, promote production, and strive for greater victories. This photo was taken in March when photographer Min Zhongjie went to this horse farm to visit the advanced deeds of "going deep into the forest and approving holes and developing animal husbandry production".

7. Paracel militia
In January 1974, the people's liberation army, navy, air force, fishermen and militia of our people's liberation army won a major victory in the Xisha self-defense counterattack, dealing a heavy blow to the emperor, the revisionist and the anti-imperialists. This victory fully demonstrates that the people of the Chinese and the People's Liberation Army have unswervingly implemented Chairman Mao's statement that "no one offends me, I do not offend, and no one offends me. I will take prisoners" instructions, the unity of the army and the people, the determination to defend our great socialist fatherland with a hundred times vigilance, and to be ready to annihilate all incoming enemies at any time. This photograph captures Comrade Wu Xianfeng, a militia squad leader who showed great tenacity in this counterattack and was awarded first-class merit, a member of the Communist Party.
8. Defence of the national airspace of the Fatherland
In order to show the heroism of our People's Liberation Army in defending the country with a hundred times more vigilance and preparing to annihilate all incoming enemies at any time, photographer Ren Mingfu took this photo. The photograph was taken through the cockpit glass from another plane while our Air Force formation was patrolling over the Paracels.
9. The Xisha warriors have their hearts set on Beijing
The commanders and fighters guarding xisha often gathered around the radio to listen to the sound of Beijing, and whenever they heard the battle order issued by Chairman Mao and the party Central Committee, everyone was invigorated and full of fighting spirits, determined to fight hard to defend Xisha and build Xisha under the guidance of Mao Zedong Thought. Photographer Wu Zhenchao took this photo to show the vast number of commanders and fighters who defended xisha and built xisha, and the proletarian revolutionary passion in Xisha and their hearts were in Beijing.

11. New appearance of Daqing Oilfield
Since the Proletarian Cultural Revolution, Daqing workers have become more vigorous and highly motivated, and have won new victories in the development and construction of oil fields, and today Daqing is being built into a modern petrochemical base. This photo was taken by photographer Zhang Haishan at a high altitude in September 1973. In the foreground of the photo is a group of various oil tank farms, the middle scene is lined with roommates and chemical devices, and the distant daqing oilfield is a vast Daqing oilfield, so as to show the thriving and thriving production and construction picture of Daqing oilfield.
12. Self-reliance bears fruit - China has built a 25,000-ton floating dock
Just when the people of the whole country were angrily denouncing Antonioni's anti-China film "China", the Shanghai shipbuilders, carrying forward the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and arduous struggle, designed and built the 25,000-ton floating dock "Huangshan" by themselves. Photographer Li Chungeng repeatedly observed the scene, compared and selected the shooting angle, and pressed the shutter on a floating ceiling next to the floating dock.

14. Brainstorming
This photo is taken of the li guocai group of the pipeline processing class of Jilin Chemical Construction Company. In the past, photographer Su Nan has interviewed this advanced group many times, but he has not taken a good picture. The reason is that every time they come, they only pay attention to superficial phenomena such as machine tools and pipe processing, and ignore the lofty quality of the working class in studying technology assiduously for the socialist revolution and construction, and their valuable spirit of being good at giving play to the collective wisdom and kindness of the masses. This time, he summed up the lessons of previous shooting, went deep into reality, observed instead, grasped the scene of the master workers insisting on self-reliance and determination to overcome technical difficulties, highlighted the theme of collective wisdom and collective efforts, and practiced true knowledge, and took the photo of "Brainstorming".
15. Battle on the Chengkun Line
The Chengdu-Kunming Railway was built between the thousands of rivers and mountains in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Along the line, the mountains are high and deep, the rivers are rapid, the geology is complex, and the climate is changeable. The railway flies over the Dadu River, through the large and small Liangshan Mountains, across the Jinsha River. This photo was taken on a construction site on the banks of the Jinsha River. In order to express the arduousness of the railway construction project and the revolutionary spirit of the road construction fighters, photographer Deng Yongqing went to the construction site from the beginning of the bridge construction project, until the bridge was basically erected, the tracks were paved, and the ideal lens was selected in different processes and under different lights. The climate is hot, the ultraviolet rays are strong, and the evening light is softer and the colors are bright. Deng Yongqing photographed this scene on the evening of November 1, 1969.
16. Herders' New Village
In February 1973, photographer Yang Kelin went to Tagong Pastoral District, Kangding County, Ganzifu Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Local cadres and members complained to him that before liberation, there was only one lama temple here, and there were no other houses. At that time, the herders who begged and wandered everywhere had no tents on the top and no inch of grass under them, and they had to become the "babies" of the temple. After liberation, the herders, under the leadership of the Party, established people's communes, practiced settled grazing, and more than thirty members of the community built forty-five new houses. The village's grain stations, schools, health clinics, shops, and everything is available. The road was also built to the edge of the village by car. The members of the club said happily: "Happy life is like a newly brewed green naked wine, which sweetly intoxicates the heart of every herder." One day, Yang Kelin went to the village side station and saw several members of the She ethnic group wearing new clothes waiting for the train. The happy smiles on their faces, the cars galloping in the distance, the towering mountains behind them and the new houses that loomed in the shadows, constitute a beautiful picture. Isn't it a reflection of the happiness of today's turned-up herders? So he took three pictures in a row, and this was one of them.
17. Dazhai is advancing
The Dazhai Brigade of Xiyang County, Shanxi Province, has taken a new step on the road of developing socialist agriculture, withdrawing mountains and ditches to create plains, and transforming old mountains and rivers at the bottom of the sea. The members of the Dazhai Brigade were determined to fight a big battle, and transformed the three-mile-long ravine of the Wolf's Den into a small plain. On the second day of construction, photographer You Yungu chose a higher angle, using the dam as the foreground and the loose uphill after the explosion as the background. The majestic scene of the members fighting in the ravine and the bulldozer moving the mountain to fill the valley was filmed.

22. Uyghur members receive new cotton
In October 1972, photographer Xu Bang visited Yingjisha County in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Passing through the Gobi Shamu, an oasis suddenly appeared in front of you: a channel of free flow. Thick forest belts divide the flat land into strips of fields, and Uighur members are busy with the autumn harvest. In the past, it was a deserted red willow wasteland, but now under the guidance of Chairman Mao's revolutionary line, the poor and lower-middle peasants of this brigade have carried out in depth the mass movement of the agricultural science village, made great changes, and transformed the deserted beach into a high-yield blanket production field with grain and cotton super "outline" for many years. This photo was taken in this interview.
23. Poor peasant old ladies and intellectual youth
In order to take photos of knowledgeable youth thriving in rural areas, photographer Wang Yangchun went to Xinzhou Commune in Huaining County, Anhui Province, to live and work with members and intellectual youth. He was very touched to see the intellectual youth in the vast world of the countryside and the meticulous care of the poor and lower-middle peasants, vigorous and thriving in the north. After observation and comparison, two characters, Lu Zhirong, the old lady of the poor peasants, and Ma Meifang, a young man who went to the countryside, were selected, and this photo was taken at the moment when the poor peasant old lady sewed clothes for the young people in the countryside.

27. Teachers and students approve the practice side by side
In mid-December 1973, after Beijing Daily reported that Huang Shuai, a student at Zhongguancun No. 1 Primary School in Beijing's Haidian District, criticized the "dignity of teachers" with an anti-trend revolutionary spirit, Gao Hong felt that it should reflect the new atmosphere and new things that appeared in this educational revolution. During the visit, I learned that Huang Shuai and his teacher had raised their consciousness after criticizing the "dignity of the teacher", realizing that the teacher and the student were comrades-in-arms in the same trench and should unite to fight together. How can the revolutionary, democratic, united new teacher-student relationship they have built up in battle be photographed? At the beginning, Gao Hong took a shot of the teacher and Huang Shuai and other students holding a symposium together, but he felt that it was generalized and lacked the atmosphere of the old fighting. Later, I found that the students in the class were writing critical drafts, and the teacher and the classmates studied together and criticized together. This is exactly how the new teacher-student relationship is reflected in battle. So I took this photo of Huang Shuai and his teacher as the main body, with other students arranging criticism columns as the background.
28. Go to the club's house for surgery
The Weijin Commune Health Center in Liaoyuan City is a good example of Jilin Province's implementation of Chairman Mao's "focus of medical and health work in the rural areas." Under the leadership of the party branch, the staff of the whole hospital has long insisted on roving medical treatment, helped the production teams to train barefoot doctors, run medicines and medicines, and the whole commune has formed a medical network centered on the health center, and the poor and lower middle peasants praised this health center as a "caring hospital". This photo was taken by the hospital's team when the members' family performed surgery on the poor and lower-middle peasants.
29. Learn to swim
The photo was taken at the swimming pool outside the Beijing Stadium. The swimmers are the young students of the swimming class of the Beijing Gymnasium Youth Amateur Sports School, most of whom are preschoolers aged four to six, who have learned well under the care of the party. After a short period of training, you can swim 200 to 600 meters continuously, in order to better reflect this content. Opted for a shot of swimming in the water rather than a poolside study.

Under the guidance of Chairman Mao's revolutionary diplomatic line, table tennis has become one of the sports of friendly exchanges between the Chinese people and the people of all countries in the world. In the young minds of young children in our country, the seeds of "friendship first, competition second" have also been planted. This photo is not performed from the front, but from the side, from the perspective of the small audience concentrating on the playing ball, reflecting their mental outlook from the different expressions of the children.
33. Morning at the fishing grounds
The fishing grounds in Chu County, Anhui Province, through the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, have further mobilized the enthusiasm of the broad masses of staff and workers for the revolution in raising fish. The production of artificially bred fry was more than thirty times the highest annual production before the Cultural Revolution, and the catch of adult fish was also developed, and photographer Zhu Li went to the fishing ground one morning in May 1973 to take this photo after understanding and observation.

35. Giant pandas in the dense forests of northern Sichuan
Giant panda is one of the rarest and most precious animals in the world, produced in the Wanglang area of Pingwu County, Sichuan Province, China. In June 1969, photographer Lu Changkun and the inspectors of the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences came to the giant panda production area. On a rainy and sunny morning, this photo was taken.
