The older generation of people's congress workers tells the story of revolutionary struggle, and the new generation of people's congress workers tells the history of the people's congress. In the study and education of party history, the organs of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress innovated the form of study and launched the theme activity of "I talk about the history of the People's Congress and inherit the spirit of the predecessors" on June 3. Li Jiaxun, a 93-year-old retired cadre at the deputy department level of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, was invited to the scene of the event to tell the story and experience of his youth from the establishment of the student autonomous association to the experience of the "April 9 Blood Case," from joining the underground organization to joining the Communist Party of China, from participating in newspaper work to devoting himself to the construction of the people's congress, thus deepening the understanding of the cadres and workers of the organs on the history of the party and the history of the people's congress.
In recent years, a large number of young cadres after the 80s and 90s have emerged in the provincial people's congress organs, who have grown up in experience and shouldered responsibilities in the times, and who have constantly thought and dared to explore in adhering to and improving the people's congress system. Gao Wuwei, Zhao Wenbo, Wang Xiaochuan, Liu Ziping, Wang Chong, Liu Hongyan, Liang Lin, Li Fei, and Qiu Jing, nine young comrades, respectively, told vivid details about that glorious period of history in terms of legislation, supervision, decisions on major matters, and deputies' work. Everyone's narration and the display of old photos and regulations of these Regulations made the participants feel the remarkable advantages of the people's congress system and the powerful institutional functions it contains, and more fully demonstrated that the people's congresses at all levels and their standing committees in the province have always adhered to the organic unity of the party's leadership, the people's mastery, and governing the country according to law, conscientiously exercised the functions and powers entrusted by the Constitution and laws, and are resonating with the development of the times and with the same direction as social progress.
Gao Wuwei, who only came to work in the organs of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress in January 2021, took participating in this theme activity as a self-requirement for learning the history of the People's Congress. In order to prepare for this speech, she flipped through the "Chronicle of Sichuan Provincial Government Affairs", combed the historical timeline of the development of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and then found and expanded relevant materials according to the timeline to form a text version of the commentary. At the same time, through the official website search, shooting physical historical materials, etc., to form their own speech PPT.
Jia Ruiyun hoped that the cadres and young comrades of the organs should always use Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to take charge, always achieve the "six banners", never forget the original intention, always be a firm supporter of the people's congress system, practice the original mission of the communists with practical actions, and practice the Zhengzheng oath we said to the Constitution. We must keep our mission firmly in mind and always be a loyal defender of the people's congress system. We must forge ahead and always be a powerful practitioner of the people's congress system.
