From childhood to adulthood, the word "party member" has always been sacred and solemn in Chen Sisi's heart. After entering the Rocket Army Cultural and Labor Corps (formerly the Second Artillery Cultural and Industrial Regiment), as an active member of the Party, he wrote into the Party application three times.

Beiqing Daily: What have you been busy with lately?

Chen Sisi: Around the theme of the centenary of the founding of the party, our literary and art performance activities are very numerous throughout the country, and our ACFTU's original large-scale sitcom epic "Song of the Strivers" is on a nationwide tour, the first stop is Shanghai, then to Jiaxing, Zunyi, and then to Jinggangshan, Yan'an, Xibaipo and other revolutionary holy places to perform.

Beiqing Daily: What are the stories that you remember before and after joining the party?

Chen Sisi: I joined the Party on June 30, 2003. In fact, I submitted a total of three applications to join the party before and after.

The most impressive thing is that before joining the party, I went to Lijiang, Yunnan Province, to shoot a work called "Into Lijiang". At that time, I went to the Yulong Snow Mountain, 4800 meters above sea level, but I didn't expect to catch a blizzard at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, the equipment was buried in the snow, and the costumes taken were particularly thin. Although it was a June day, it was very cold, the snow was thick, and there was altitude sickness, and I fainted after lack of oxygen.

Then we helped each other into a lounge and stayed all night. At that time, there was only one oxygen cylinder, and the rescue could come up after dawn, so everyone felt anxious and dazed.

Our director is an old party member, and I was very touched by his behavior, he said: Now that we are in a critical moment, the comrades who are party members please raise your hand.

I was lying down and saw only one party member raising his hand, the old director. Later, he asked the comrades who were members of the League to raise their hands, and I also raised my hands, and there were 5 league members and 1 party member. He said I was a party member, and the oxygen cylinder was given to other comrades first. At this time, I felt the cohesion and consciousness of an old party member - although he was almost 60 years old, he still put others before himself, so my admiration for party members was sublimated at that time.

After returning to Beijing, the captain of the song team told me that Sisi you were approved to join the party and took the oath of joining the party on June 30. When I proudly raised my right hand in the face of the party flag and swore an oath, I was really in tears.

Admire Guo Lanying's seriousness and persistence

Beiqing Daily: Which Communist Party member in the field of literature and art has had the greatest influence on you?

Chen Sisi: The teacher I respect and love the most is Guo Lanying, the People's Artist. After becoming a party member, I had work contact and conversation with Teacher Guo Lanying - she was born in 1930 and is now more than 90 years old, but her belief in singing for the people has never changed.

Once we participated in a folk song program called "Song from the Yellow River", and I had the honor of sitting with Guo Lanying as a judge at the same time. The work of the judges was very heavy, and at that time, Teacher Guo Lanying was more than 80 years old, and he sat with us for several hours. The teacher said very persistently: I must listen carefully to the performance of each singer, and then make the most pertinent and objective evaluation, and at the same time I must also guide and help these young singers. I admire her seriousness and dedication to her work and her approachability.

"Take the sky as the curtain, take the earth as the platform"

Beiqing Daily: As a practitioner, what are your personal suggestions and opinions for the healthy development of the industry?

Chen Sisi: The difference between party-member literary and artistic workers and non-party-member literary and artistic workers may not be particularly well understood by the audience or readers, but in fact, the nature of the work and the audience they face may still be different.

Like us, we are more involved in some public welfare activities and public welfare performances. In the past, in the army, we had more than 100 performance tasks under the troops every year; now like the ACFTU Cultural and Labor Troupe going to the production line of all parts of the country every year and the front line of the national key projects, for example, to perform for miners and construction workers, including the performances of our recent condolences to the courier brother, many times it is based on the sky as the curtain, the ground as the stage, the environment is very difficult, there is no brilliant stage, gorgeous lights, and the costumes worn for the performance are not very bright and beautiful. At this time, we are all party members and comrades rushing to the forefront.

This year, in the case of a lot of performance tasks, almost all of our party members and comrades are performing in other places, going where they need to go, and running all the way to bring songs and laughter to the audience. What you see may be a three-minute song, but the whole preparation process is very complicated - in hot weather, the actor needs to wear cotton clothes; there is no place to change clothes, an actor may play six or seven times, there is no cover up in the background, directly change clothes. In this process, the leading role of party members will be highlighted: no matter how difficult the conditions, party members must rush ahead; in the face of fame and fortune, you must have a high posture, which is also the basic requirement for party members.
