Claudio Ranieri shocked Watford, scoring four goals in 12 minutes

Head coach Claudio Ranieri stunned Watford as his side scored four goals in 12 minutes and won 5-2 over Everton.

The Hornets' first victory was at Goodison Park, ranieri's first club in charge – came in stunning fashion with the Joshua Kings scored a hat-trick on his return to Everton, where he made 11 appearances last season without a single goal before leaving on a free transfer in the summer.

Last week, Ranieri's reign began with a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool, but the atmosphere here was quite different as Everton gave in, leaving Watford to celebrate in front of jubilant away fans.

Ranieri said: "It is important to show the character, strength and reaction of the players to the outcome of the game. We played well but all of a sudden we scored 3 goals in 9 minutes – it was incredible. ”

Kim missed last week's game due to injury and he was the highlight of the match.

He responded to Tom Davis' goal in the 3rd minute of the first half, where he had a chance to give Watford a lead before finishing the game at Emmanuel Dennis after Yuray Kuka saved Richardson's header.

Ranieri added: "I am very, very happy because last week I did not have Josh Kim, and today I have Josh Kim.

"Kim played a great game, not only because he scored a hat-trick, but also because he lifted the ball and won all the games, and his every move was wonderful."

Watford fans hope this is the start for Ranieri, whose first challenge of the week was to lift his player's head after Liverpool were beaten.

"I just said from the bottom of my heart, 'It's okay, it's possible,'" Ranieri said of his message this week.

'When Atletico lost 3-2 to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, I said to my players, 'For me, Atletico are among the best defensive teams in the world, so if they can lose 3 to Liverpool, Watford can concede 5'.

"But after that, we have to fight for every duel, for every ball and the second ball, and I'm very, very happy with our performance."

While Ranieri was celebrating, his old friend Benitez was wondering what was wrong.

With 15 minutes left in the game, his team finished with a fourth-place finish in the league, but by the end of the game, Goodison was half empty and the rest of the players were laughing at the manager.

The Spaniard said: "I was really disappointed. We scored one goal, we took the lead, and then we made one mistake after another, conceding too many goals in a matter of minutes because we failed to control the situation in our favor of the second ball. ”

Richardson came on as a substitute an hour after the game, his first appearance after a six-week suspension with a knee injury, and he only needed three minutes to head the ball into the net.

But once Everton lost the lead, they lost their direction altogether, with Watford's last two goals making Everton's defence look awkward.

Benitez said: "Richardson scored, the fans supported the team, everything was positive."

"Then we started making mistakes, we gave them a chance to take a corner and we could have done better, but we didn't defend the corner very well.

"On the counter-attacks since then, they have regained the ball in a bad position each time, which has given them more hope, confidence and confidence.

"I understand the frustration of the fans. We have to make sure that in every game we show something, more characters, more personalities. We must deal with difficult situations. ”
