1908-1950: Early experiences

On 9 March 1908, Inter Milan Football Club was founded. At that time, the Italian and Swiss players in the "Milan Cricket and Football Club" (the predecessor of the current AC Milan Club) were extremely dissatisfied with the team's excessive Britishization and some snobbish behavior, angrily left the team and formed inter milan football club on their own, and the meaning of the word "international" also lies in this. In fact, Inter Milan's first captain was the Swiss Hernst Manktl. The club's colours are golden yellow, black and blue.

In 1910, the second year of Inter Milan's existence, the team won the league title, which was inter milan's first league title.

In 1928, under the coercion of the fascist authorities, Inter Milan merged U.S. Milanese into Inter Milan and renamed it "Ambrosana". The word Ambrosiana is derived from religion and is a favorite of Benito Mussolini. Originally, Ambrosiana was originally the name of the Genoa team, and Genoa was forced to change to "GENOVA" (derived from a port name in Genoa, meaning Genoa).

In 1947, the team hero Giuseppe Meazza ended his football career at Inter Milan, playing a total of 408 games for the team and scoring 287 goals. Meazza died in 1979, and a year later the Meazza Stadium bears his name.

Brilliant 09-10 season

In 2011, under the leadership of Leonardo, Inter Milan staged a big reversal in the Champions League to eliminate Bayern Munich to advance to the quarter-finals, Leonardo as the manager of the team, led the team to win the Coppa Italia, and then unexpectedly lost to Schalke 04, stopping at the quarter-finals of the Champions League. In Serie A 2010–11, he finished second in the league with 76 points. On 29 May, Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia in the coppa italia final 3-1 against Palermo at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. On August 6, in the Beijing Bird's Nest Italian Super Cup, it was reversed 2-1 by AC Milan and lost the championship.

2012-2016: In a slump

At the beginning of the 2011-12 season, Inter Milan suffered a poor performance of 1 draw and 3 losses in all competitions, and finally after a 3-1 defeat to Novara in Serie A on 21 September, the club announced the dismissal of Gian Piero Gasperini and the takeover of the team by Claudio Ranieri. However, in the face of the aging of the team, the club suffered from financial difficulties and failed to change blood in time, and there was constant gang infighting among the players, and the league ranking fell all the way, and the Champions League, although it qualified as the top of the group, was still eliminated by Marseille in the 1-8 final. On 25 March 2012, Inter milan suffered a 2–0 away defeat to Juventus in the Italian derby, losing their 12th league game of the season. On 26 March, Inter Milan announced that Ranieri had been sacked and Stramaccione, who had just led the Under-19 youth team to the next series title, became the team's new manager. Although the team's state has rebounded after the new coach took office, it was helpless to lose too many points at the beginning of the season, and in the end Inter only ranked 6th in the league this season.

In the 2012-13 season, the team's performance was equally disappointing, and after a winning streak at the beginning of the season, the team's performance plummeted, and finally ranked 9th in the season, not only breaking the bad record, but also missing out on European competitions. In the Europa League, because of the number of away goals, he was unfortunately eliminated by Tottenham Hotspur and stopped in the round of 16. The poor record put Stella Marcioni under pressure. Finally, on 24 May 2013, Inter Milan announced Walter Mazzarí as the team's new manager.

At the end of the 2013-14 season, Inter Milan, who did not play any European competitions, finished fifth in the league under the leadership of manager Mazzari, slightly stopping the downward trend, but also missing out on The Champions League qualification again. In the Coppa Italia, Inter milan were eliminated by Udinese in the quarter-finals and experienced another disappointing season.

In the 2014-15 season, Mazzari was sacked by new boss Toshir after half a season of poor results. [15] On 14 November 2014, Inter Milan officially announced the return of meritorious manager Roberto Mancini to replace Razari, who had been dismissed earlier. [16] After half a season at Mancini's lead, the results fluctuated greatly, sometimes winning consecutively, sometimes losing consecutively, and finally ending the 2014–15 Serie A season with only an eighth-place finish, once again missing out on next season's European competitions. In the Coppa Italia, Inter Milan was eliminated by Napoli, and in the Europa League knockout round, they were also killed by Wolfsburg. Inter Milan fell into a long period of decline after the peak of 2010. The only thing to be thankful for was that the team's young Argentine striker Mauro Icardi won the Serie A Golden Boot with a tie of 22 goals with Luca Tony, becoming another Inter Serie A Golden Boot winner after Zlatán Ibrahimović,[17] becoming the ninth Inter to win the Top Scorer in the Serie A. [17]

In the 2015-16 season, the average age of the 25-year-old team was the youngest in Serie A; the team's salary has dropped to 94 million after year-on-year reductions, ranking fourth in Serie A; Inter have won 20 wins, 7 draws and 11 losses, scored 50 goals and conceded 38 goals and locked in fourth place in the early round. Although the final regret was not to qualify for the 2016-17 Champions League, the team also successfully completed the goal of guaranteeing European qualification for the 2016-17 season, and the team's 53% win rate is also the highest in the season.

On June 7, 2016, Zhang Jindong, Chairman of Suning Group, announced in Nanjing that its subsidiary Suning Sports Industry Group had acquired 68.55% of the shares of Italian Inter Milan Football Club for a total consideration of about 263 million euros through the subscription of new shares and the acquisition of old shares.
