In Guan Dexing's film career, he has starred in more than 80 Huang Feihong films, setting a Guinness World Record, which makes Jet Li, including the later Zhao Wenzhuo, out of reach, so in the hearts of the older generation of audiences, Huang Feihong's incarnation is Guan Laozi.

The director of this film is Yuan Heping, and the martial arts design is jointly completed by Yuan Jiaban. Before that, Yuan Heping also filmed "Drunken Fist" and "Lin Shirong", both of which tell stories related to Huang Feihong. Although Guan Laozi in "Brave and Fearless" is not the male number one like him in "Lin Shirong", Yuan Biao and Liang Jiaren are the protagonists, but his joining is still the finishing touch of the whole movie.
The story tells that Bai Yihu (Yuan Xinyi), a murderer wanted by the government, after killing several catchers to save his wife (Yuan Qiu), ran to the Victory Year Drama Class and hid.
At this time, the laundry worker did not have the courage (Yuan Biao) to go to the drama class to collect debts, and the silver bell around his neck reminded the white-fronted tiger of the scene when his wife died, plus he was bullied after the drama class, so he killed again.
After painting himself a big flower face, the white-fronted tiger first killed the bully of the drama class, Ōsuke Hiroshi, and then attacked the fearless, but the witty daredevil finally managed to escape the clutches of the devil.
In order to capture the white-fronted tiger, the chief catcher of the seven provinces (Fan Meisheng) came to Guangzhou. In the restaurant, he and Wu Bian and his brother-in-law Liang Kuan (Liang Jiaren) had a misunderstanding and thus fought a big fight, in order to scare the head catcher, Liang Kuan lied that Wu Bi was Huang Feihong, "pit" his master.
He did not dare to worship Huang Feihong (Guan Dexing) as a teacher at the recommendation of Liang Kuan, but in fact, he had already inadvertently practiced "dipping clothes and grappling" in the process of washing.
When Bao Zhilin, the chief catcher, asked for an explanation, he learned that the "Huang Feihong" in the restaurant was actually impersonating. At this time, the two catchers wanted to catch no guts, but they were repelled by him, and the moves and techniques of no guts were all looked at by Huang Feihong, who thought that he did not have the guts to not only understand kung fu, but also pretended to be his own swagger and deception, and this time he came to learn the art of the teacher with another plan, so he drove the no guts out.
At Huang Feihong's reparation banquet to the chief catcher, the white-fronted tiger once again appeared to kill the ring, and the chief catcher believed that the case was the work of the "big flower face", so he arrested all the flower faces who sang the opera, but found nothing.
Tan Qing (Gao Fei), who was defeated by Huang Feihong at the lion dance, has always held a grudge against Huang Feihong. He once sent a "life-taking tailor" (Feng Ke'an) to kill Huang Feihong, but failed. This time, he wanted to take advantage of Huang Feihong's birthday feast to cut down the grass and remove the roots of Baozhilin, so he colluded with the white-fronted tiger.
They first set a trap to lure Liang Kuan to kill him when he went to the Victory Year Drama Class to investigate the clues, and then imprisoned the chief catcher and injured Huang Feihong with a hidden weapon.
At this time, the fearless "dipped hand" played a role, and after several bitter battles, the white-fronted tiger was finally defeated by the fearless.
This "Brave and Fearless" reflects the typical characteristics of Huang Feihong films in the 1980s: that is, on the basis of traditional Huang Feihong films, it incorporates the elements of a humorous kung fu kid film in which a cowardly rookie blindly beats and bumps into a master, and although the comedy style is prominent, the plot is simple and trivial. In particular, the motive of the white-fronted tiger is even more sloppy.
However, its martial arts design is very ingenious, and the actors also have real kung fu, especially the "Liuyun Flying Sleeve" section in which Yuan Biao broke Yuan Xinyi's "Liuyun Flying Sleeve" with "dipping his clothes and grabbing hands", which fully reflects Yuan Jiaban's keen observation and imagination that can integrate the details of life into martial arts, and the film also has a very detailed and comprehensive display of the rules of lion dance.
Although Guan Dexing was 75 years old when he took over this film, huang Feihong, who he played, was still mentally strong and energetic, and even once overshadowed the limelight of the lead actor Yuan Biao. Especially in the two fight scenes in which Huang Feihong treats the rogue patient who is not inferior and defeats the life-threatening tailor, his performance of retreating from the enemy in the face of danger and calmly retreating from the enemy is really worthy of the four words of "a generation of masters".
