However, people may not know that there are other members of Hu Songhua's family who are engaged in artistic work. His wife is a dancer, the two have collaborated on stage many times, and his younger brother is also a singer, that is, Hu Jun's father.
Many singers of Hu Songhua's contemporaries have left this world, and Hu Songhua is more than 90 years old this year, which can be regarded as a high lifespan.
And perhaps more people do not know that Hu Songhua should have become a calligrapher and painter at the earliest, and the change to singing was only an accident.

Hu Songhua was born in Beijing in 1930, his father was an obsessive lover of calligraphy and painting, influenced by his family Hu Songhua studied calligraphy and painting since he was a child, and won many awards. After graduating from college, Hu Songhua picked up a paintbrush to join the work, ready to show his skills on this road.
An experience in 1950 changed Hu Songhua's choice. This year, he followed the team to the frontier ethnic minority areas to collect wind research, the song and dance of the frontier attracted his attention, so he developed a strong interest in national music, and immediately asked the local people for advice and learned how to speak.
After returning, Hu Songhua decided to learn to sing, the so-called "throw pen from song", and found the enlightenment teacher Guo Shuzhen. Later, he systematically learned the bel canto singing method, and the singing skills were further mastered. With the nourishment of national singing and the strengthening of bel canto singing, Hu Songhua deliberately combines the two to form his own unique style.

In 1963, Hu Song recorded all the singing segments of the male protagonist Ah Hei in the music story film "Ashima", the most famous of which was the song "Horse Bell Rings and Jade Birds Sing" sung by Ashima and Ahei. This song also made Hu Songhua famous.
However, the people of the whole country know Hu Songhua, or through the next year's musical and dance epic "Dongfang Hong". The prosperous Hu Songhua put on the Mongolian national costume and passionately sang a "Hymn", and it was through his lyrics and arrangement.

In fact, this performance was first designed as a pure dance program, in order to enhance the celebratory atmosphere of congratulating the birth of New China, the leader decided to join the tenor solo in the first part, preferably using mongolian musical style.
The organizers learned that Hu Songhua had just returned to Beijing from the inner Mongolian grasslands and had composed several Mongolian-style songs, so they sent him this task. Hu Songhua lived up to expectations and completed the task with high quality.
The song "Hymn" was first sung in 1964 and was welcomed by the people of the whole country, and when Hu Songhua re-sang it in 1984, some lyrics with excessive atmosphere of the times were modified.

From the 1950s to the mid-1980s, Hu Songhua recorded theme songs and interludes for more than 20 films such as "Ashima" and "Ah, Cradle", and recorded more than 20 records.
Hu Songhua has been old in these years, but he is still old and strong, absolutely belongs to the healthy elderly, in 2019, he also sang with some old singers on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, and this year he is 90 years old and also participated in the CCTV Lantern Party.
