Gai Mei, born in 1961, a native of Heze City, Shandong Province, graduated from Shandong Normal University.
In 1970, he was admitted to the Peking Opera class of Shandong Normal College, and studied Lao Sheng and Wu Sheng with Mr. Zhang Jinting, a performing artist at the Beijing Opera House in Beijing; Later, he studied with Mr. Guan Minglin of the China Peking Opera House "Mingchun Society".
In 2001, he went to Beijing Bayi Film Studio to study film and television performance with mr. Xu Guangming, a famous performance artist;
In 2006, it was awarded the "Most Image" award by the headquarters of China Planning Group.
He is currently a member of the China Film and Television Association.
He is a special actor association member of the China Film and Television Artists Association.

Mr. Gai Mei, who is now the deputy secretary-general of the China Calligraphy and Painting Association, was jointly selected by the Artists Association of the China Hanlin Academy, the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, the China Hanlin Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, and the China Top 100 Calligraphers and Painters Judging Committee in May 2016 as the "Top 100 Chinese Calligraphers and Painters" in the 2016 China Top 100 Calligraphers and Painters Selection Activity.
Mr. Gemme was awarded the honorary title of "Red Brand" Red Artist in 2018.
