01 Elena Garanza
The Gypsy Song

Elina Garanca, one of today's finest soprano singers, listens to her singing and you will find that her pronunciation is very natural, soft and powerful. She can have such a good foundation, which is absolutely inseparable from the cultivation of her family, because her father is a chorus conductor, and her mother was a singer, so from an early age, her blood has flowed with elements of music and opera.
In 1996 she entered the Latvian Conservatory of Music, where she won the Helsinki International Vocal Competition in 1999 and then went to Vienna for further studies. After performing Mozart's "Dido's Kindness" at the Salzburg Festival in 2003 and Masnay's "Witte" and Mozart's "Women Are All" at the Vienna Opera in 2004, she began to appear on the stage of major theaters and concert halls around the world, and entered the eyes of the international music industry with her excellent timbre, musical sense and movie star-like stage image.
Over the years, Garantha has been best praised by musicians for her pure voice and singing skills that can be easily mastered for any difficult singing passage. Since signing with DG, she has become one of DG's key new stars, and her debut album Lyrical Aria won the 2007 Echo Award (ECHO) Singer of the Year. The records that followed were well received. One of the most amazing things is her and DG's "Gypsy Song" released in 2010.
Garantha once said: "For many years, I was thought to be able to sing only Mozart's operas, but now I can also become a bel canto singer, and some people find it strange that I will sing Carmen, because it is difficult for them to imagine a blonde, cool-looking subordination from the north who can play a passionate gypsy girl who thinks my voice is not suitable."
As early as 2009, Galansha had already starred in "Carmen" and also portrayed this role particularly stunningly, although her French has a slight accent, but her smooth voice from high to low, showing a vivid image of Carmen, but also the delicate emotions in the play are appropriately presented to the audience, a great success, and thus breaking the objective impression of those who are not optimistic about her.
This set of "Gypsy Songs" shows her "silky smooth" voice as always, rounded and extremely mature, which is amazing. The highlights of this record are not many, most of them are the music of Spanish composers, as well as the works of Rejal and Biccai with Spanish and Gypsy backgrounds, and the composition of the music is also quite diverse, from the accompaniment of orchestral music to only a guitar, which adds a rich variety of aural effects.
The "Chardas" in Rehal's opera "Gypsy Love", re-arranged by the Spanish master José María Gordón, is dazzling and full of light; the jazz-style "Song of Love that Endures Suffering" is more pure and elegant under her singing; and the excerpt "I Dream I Live in the Marble Hall" from Balf's opera "Bohemian Girl" shows her flowing and stretched singing voice to the fullest.
What is more worth mentioning is that the well-known "Love Like a Free Bird" in the opera "Carmen" actually has two versions, which most people do not know. In this album, Galansha recorded two versions at the same time, allowing fans to explore the similarities and differences between the two through this opportunity.

02 Rebin & Lugansky
Frank. Greg. Janna Jack: Violin Sonata
In our eyes, César Franck's most famous work may be the Symphony in D minor, but his Violin Sonata in A major is also a masterpiece that cannot be easily ignored. Composed in 1886, the then 64-year-old Frank celebrated the marriage of the famous violinist Eugène-Auguste Ysaÿe, and of course, the premiere was also performed by Isai. The piece consists of four movements, with slower movements alternating with faster movements, and using Frank's unique Cyclic form, which is quite complex. Immediately after its release, the song was loved by everyone and is still a favorite and must-perform piece by many violinists, of which the fourth movement is the most familiar work for all veteran and novice fans.
Edward Grieg was a composer of the Norwegian Folk Music School in the second half of the 19th century. His creations are extraordinarily national and creative. Of all his music compositions, there is no more lucid and joyous instrumental work than the violin sonata, and although he has only written three violin sonatas in his lifetime, the youthful atmosphere, the infinite hope and the enthusiasm are the best embodiment of this.
His Violin Sonata No. 2 in G major, which took only three weeks to complete, is the most outstanding masterpiece, and its unique creative characteristics fully reflect the Norwegian national style and strong national feelings, which deserve to be among his best works, and are called "Mozart of the nineteenth century" and "sincere and natural works" by violinist Rebin. The famous Czech composer Jannajk left only a violin sonata in his lifetime. Although the length of this piece is not long, its rhythm is rich in changes and emotions, and it is a work with extremely delicate connotations.
In today's Russian music scene, Rebin and Lugansky can definitely be called the two outstanding figures in the field of violin and piano young players, and they are also good partners on the stage. This time, thanks to DG's efforts, they completed their first collaboration in the studio, and the repertoire was three romantic violin sonatas of completely different styles that we just mentioned, which Rebin called": "A documentary document of two people who like these music and play together".
Their interpretation is as fiery as a flame, and their playing skills are calm, among which Lugansky's treatment of the phrases not only contrasts with Rebin, but also enhances the persuasiveness of interpretation, which is a highly high-level chamber music album.
