The old Cantonese song "Whenever Changes", full of life philosophy, is also a Hong Kong era song. After the first performance of the popular female singer Kaoru in the 1970s, the classic light did not go out. Forty years of time, several generations of singers cover singing, making this song more charming and long.
The original song for this song is "The Bell of Sha Yun" composed by Japanese composer Masao Koga and poet Yachishi Saijo. In the 1970s, after the arrangement of the famous Hong Kong musician Gu Jiahui, Lo Guochun filled in the Cantonese lyrics and renamed it "Whenever Changes".
In addition, there is Zhu Yu's Chinese version of "Moonlight Serenade", which is the same origin as "Whenever Changes", the most widely known is the version sung by Cai Qin, which Miss Dong will elaborate on in the next article.
The original song of these two songs, "The Bell of Sha Yun", is derived from the real events that occurred during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan in 1938. Sha Yun, a native of the Taiya ethnic group in Yilan County, Taiwan, was ordered to carry her luggage to the Japanese teacher who had been conscripted into the army for the invasion of China, and drowned in a torrential rain on the way.
This incident was used by Japanese militarism, remade into a movie by Li Xianglan as Xiao Shayun, the plot was tampered with into Sha Yun voluntarily sent off for a policeman who was about to go on the expedition, the authorities hyped up to prove the indigenous people's support and submission to the Japanese Empire, in fact, the most fierce rebellion against the Japanese occupation was the Taiwanese aborigines, Wei Desheng's epic film "Sedek Balai", which truly restored their blood and tears of resistance history.
It is true that we must resolutely resist the "Song of Sha Yun" that beautifies and publicizes Japan's war of aggression, but the Hong Kong version of "Whenever Changes" and the Taiwanese version of "Moonlight Serenade", which re-arranged and filled in lyrics, have already broken away from the narrow shackles of the original song, endowed and poured out the characteristics and emotions of the Chinese people, and there is no need to entangle and boycott anymore.

The cover version of Miriam Yeung is the theme song of the film of the same name in honor of the return of Hong Kong, starring her, Eason Chan and Huang Bo.
