【A Thousand Old Filmmakers (375) - Qiu Yuefeng】
May 10 is the 99th anniversary of the birth of Qiu Yuefeng, a generation of dubbing masters of Shanghai Film Translation Studio, taking this opportunity to pay tribute to Qiu Yuefeng artists.
Today's young people, friends of middle age or older, may not know much about the artist Qiu Yuefeng, but he is not only a generation of dubbing masters, but also has played roles in many movies, especially some roles with foreigner faces.
Qiu Yuefeng, born on May 10, 1922 in Present-day Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, was born in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and used the names Qiu Husheng and Ouyang Yuefeng. His father was a Chinese military attaché on the Sino-Soviet border, and his mother was a Belarusian woman, so he is half Russian, which not only gives him a foreigner's face, but also fills him with artistic cells.

Qiu Yuefeng studied at the Fujian Senior Industrial Vocational School, graduated from the Beiping (now Beijing) Foreign Chinese School in 1942, and then successively served as a drama actor in Tianjin Daya Troupe, Yifeng Troupe, Beiping Hualian Drama Society, Shanghai Filmmakers United Theater Troupe, And National Arts Drama Society. In 1949, he participated in the movie "Two Hundred and Five Short Biographies" directed by Zheng Xiaoqiu and starring Lü Yukun and Zhu Lin.
Due to his highly expressive timbre, in 1950, Qiu Yuefeng entered the translation and production team of the Shanghai Film Studio as a translation producer.
Since then, Qiu Yuefeng has voiced the main characters in more than 200 translated films, as well as dozens of characters in animated films.
The translated producers represent characters such as the barber and Hitler in "The Great Dictator", Verdun in "Monsieur Verdun", Rochester in "Jane Eyre", Colonel Virta in "Zorro", espocido the thief in "The Police and the Thief", Karenin in "Anna Karenina", Lermontov in "Red Diamond", etc.
The animation represents characters such as Sun Wukong in "The Haunting of the Heavenly Palace", Zhou Peel in "Midnight Chicken", Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East China Sea in "Nezha Noisy Sea", Bayi Lord in "Avanti Seed Gold", The King in "The Journey of the Gold Coin Country", and the Foreign Monk in "Fishing Boy".
Qiu Yuefeng not only has a super high recognition of his face, but even his voice is unique, low and hoarse, sexy and magnetic, relaxed, sometimes calm and elegant, sometimes cold and ruthless, which makes people impressed.
In particular, Qiu Yuefeng's dubbing of Sun Wukong for the cartoon "The Haunting of the Heavenly Palace" makes it difficult for future generations to surpass. At that time, the CCTV "Journey to the West" crew selected a voice actor for Sun Wukong, and director Yang Jie's request was: "I want to find Qiu Yuefeng's voice", so I found Li Yang. Later, dubbing all kinds of Sun Wukong, basically could not get rid of Qiu Yuefeng's voice.
While completing the dubbing task, Qiu Yuefeng has also starred in some movies, such as he has played Ke Kui in "Song Jingshi", played the British captain in "Red Flag on the Sea", played the prison warden in "Ao Lei Yilan", played the opium dealer in "Lin Zexu", played Brithes in "The Dead Light on the Coral Island", and also played roles in movies such as "Fox Hunter" and "Genius Acrobat".
However, on March 30, 1980, Qiu Yuefeng took a large number of sleeping pills, and his family immediately sent him to Huaihai Hospital after discovering him, but after a day and a night of rescue, he was declared dead, and he died at the age of 58.
In a 2005 commemorative article, Shanghai Film Translation Studio voice actor Su Xiu wrote that Qiu Yuefeng was gone, "I still have no way of knowing why he died..."
The untimely death of a generation of dubbing masters makes people lament! Qiu Yuefeng artists through the ages!
