The Red Army commander was killed by agents, and it wasn't until 20 years later that everyone knew he had died

Li Can, this name may be unfamiliar to everyone, but he has two comrades-in-arms, you must be no stranger, that is, Mr. Peng and Huang Gongluo.

There are many comrades-in-arms of Mr. Peng and Huang Gongluo, so why mention Li Can? Quite simply, Li Can used to call Mr. Peng and Huang Gongluo "Three Jie", you said that cattle are not cattle?

Li Can, Peng and Huang were both Hunan people, and joined the Xiang Army at the age of 17, when Mr. Peng was his squad leader. Interestingly, Li Can had read books and often taught Captain Peng to recognize words, and there was also a clerk in the battalion where this class was located, named Huang Gongluo, and the three of them were like-minded and sympathetic.

Li Can's personality is very similar to Mr. Peng's, jealousy and hatred, and he can't see the poor suffering the most. There was a landlord in Nan County, Hunan Province, who usually bullied men and women, and the people dared to be angry and did not dare to speak, and they all called him "Living Yama King" behind his back. When Li Can heard about it, he patted the table and said, What a living Yama King, Lao Tzu wants to turn him into a dead Yama King!

Li Can, with a few people, took out the "Living Yama King", inserted a sign in the street, and said to the people: Whoever dares to bully you again, you will mention my name Li Can! I don't have many guns, but it's enough to shoot a few landlord bullies!

The surrounding rich people all regarded Li Can as the "living king of Yan", as long as they heard that Li Can was coming, they did not say a word, and slipped away with gold and silver.

In 1927, Mr. Peng, then commander of the First Regiment of the Fifth Division of the National Revolutionary Army, prepared to join the revolution. Many people opposed it, but only Li Can stood up and supported President Peng, saying: The road taken by Old Peng is right, and now that we are carrying out the national revolution first, we must take the road of communism, industry, and party in the future, and there is no other choice.

Then came the famous Pingjiang Uprising. We all know that the Pingjiang Uprising had "three giants": Mr. Peng, Huang Gongluo, teng Daiyuan, and in fact, Li Can. Li Can was the general representative of the First Regiment Soldiers' Committee at that time, and his rank was the same as those three people. After the establishment of the Fifth Red Army, Li Can served as a member of the Central Military Commission, alongside Mr. Peng and Teng Daiyuan.

After the Fifth Red Army ascended Jinggangshan, Li Can continued to fight landlords and fighting militia groups in the Jinggangshan area, which made the reactionaries feel frightened. At that time, in the Area of Jinggangshan, no one knew Li Can's great name, and no matter how poor the people were, as long as they heard that Li Can's troops were coming, they would give half of their rations to the troops.

The troops wanted to expand, and the villagers also sent their sons to Li Can's Red Fifth Column, saying that it was not wrong to follow Li Can. The Red Fifth Column had fewer than 1,000 men in September 1929, but a few months later the Red Fifth Column had expanded to more than 6,000 men.

Li Can's status in the Red Army was not low, and he was the commander of the Red Eighth Army of the Third Red Army, and the political commissar was He Changgong. Please note that at that time, there were a total of 5 armies of the Red First Army and the Red Third Army, of which the commander of the Red Third Army was Huang Gongluo, the commander of the Red Fourth Army was Lin Zong, the commander of the Red Fifth Army was Deng Ping, and the commander of the Red Twelfth Army was Wu Zhonghao, which were basically the ranks of marshal and general.

When Li Can passed through Ruichang in Jiangxi Province before, he was ambushed by the enemy army and seriously injured, and the organization wanted him to go to Shanghai to see a doctor, but Li Can did not want to go, saying that now is a critical moment, how can I be a deserter? The organization "forcibly" made He Changgong a military commander and "drove" Li Can to Shanghai.

After Li Can arrived in Shanghai, the doctor checked and said that your lung disease has reached an advanced stage, and it is too late to treat it. When Li Can came, he brought 600 yuan with him, which was not enough at all, and the organization remitted 400 yuan to him, but he did not expect to be cheated halfway.

At that time, in early 1932, the Japanese army was launching the "January 28 Incident" in Shanghai, and the Chinese Nineteenth Route Army was fighting with the Japanese Kou in full swing, and Li Can said to people, I have not much time, if I want to die, I will die on the anti-Japanese battlefield!

But on the way to the front, Li Can was targeted by a secret agent, who learned that he was a senior general of the Red Army and immediately arrested him.

The Kuomintang said that as long as you declare your withdrawal from the Red Army, they will not kill you and return your illness. Li Can sneered, If I had been afraid of death, I would not have joined the Red Army in the first place, and now I would not have gone to the anti-Japanese front, and I hate only hating that I could not die on the anti-Japanese front, but I died at your hands!

The Kuomintang did not get any valuable information from Li Can's mouth, so they had to kill him, at the age of 31.

At that time, the situation was very chaotic, and the news of Li Can's sacrifice had not been disseminated until after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and everyone knew that Li Can had been killed for nearly 20 years.

Mr. Peng also deplored Li Can's death, and often said to people: One Huang Gongluo, one Li Can, it is a pity! (Note: Huang Gongluo died in September 1931, a few months before Li Can)

Just think, if Li Can and Huang Gongluo had not sacrificed prematurely, with their seniority and ability, when they were awarded the title in 1955, they should at least be candidates for the general.
