The reporter learned that Jia Moumou, the breeder who was injured by the tiger, is usually more familiar with the tiger he raised. At the time of the incident, Jia Moumou forgot to close the gate of the tiger cage after feeding the tiger, and the tiger pounced from behind and caused injury, and then escaped from the tiger cage. According to the doctors involved in the rescue of the breeder, the keeper was fatally injured in the neck, the wound touched the cervical spine, and the bitten breeder had no vital signs when the doctor arrived.
After the accident, the local public security and armed police were organized to deal with the scene and control the two tigers in the scenic spot. The arresting officers came up with various ways to trap the tiger, for example, they tried to use a blowpipe anesthesia gun, but the mouth blowing anesthesia needle was only effective within 5 meters, and after investigation, the scene could not be approached by the tiger at all. He also tried to feed the tigers with anesthetics into the stomachs of the chickens, but many times the trappings were unsuccessful, so he had to kill the two tigers one after another. A police officer involved in the on-site disposal of the Forestry Public Security Bureau of Huaichuan County said that the situation was urgent at the time of the incident, the tiger was irritable, there were many attacks, and the place of the accident was a tourist area, and if decisive measures were not taken, it might cause greater harm.
According to the Forestry Bureau of Huaichuan County, Nanyang City, the two tigers involved were from a circus in Suzhou, Anhui Province, and were leased and performed by the scenic spot. Suzhou forestry department said that since 2018, the state has explicitly prohibited the operation and utilization of tigers and their products, and has never approved the business license for tiger transportation and performance, and the circus involved or there are violations, and the investigation has been launched. At present, Huaichuan County has ordered the Peacock Valley Park to be suspended for rectification.
In recent years, incidents such as tigers fleeing and injuring people have occurred from time to time, and many people have lost their lives. Just two days before the tragedy in Henan, a keeper in a city zoo in Bengbu, Anhui Province, was attacked by a tiger and died when he entered the tiger cage to clean up without locking the door of the isolation room. Lu Jiqi, director of the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecology of Zhengzhou University, said that this is not only a problem of irregular operation of breeders, but also exposes the lack of management of scenic spots, zoos and other units involved. Lu Jiqi pointed out: "Managers have relaxed and paralyzed in the implementation of management details and technical specifications. Zoos raising these beasts of prey must have the necessary guarantee conditions, one is the condition of eating, and the other is protective measures. ”
It is reported that the Forestry Bureau of Henan Province has issued an emergency notice on the afternoon of the accident, requiring the competent forestry departments at all levels in the province to organize safety inspections of zoos, wildlife parks, circuses and other artificial breeding and display sites of wild animals in their administrative areas from now on. Shang Guangzhu, director of the Wildlife Protection Division of the Zhengzhou Forestry Bureau, said: "The provincial bureau issued an emergency notice on the safety management of wild animals, requiring all localities to strengthen the management of artificial domestication sites for wild animals and implement responsibilities step by step; according to standards and regulations, comprehensive inspection, and no hidden dangers." In the future, all circuses that come to the exhibition must strictly follow the requirements and regulations and resolutely grasp the safety supervision work. ”
