Shaanxi Province, abbreviated as "Shaanxi" or "Qin", is the ancient capital of the province, Xi'an. As far as the history of Baihe County is concerned, as early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the early Warring States period, the area belonged to the territory of the Chu State. By the middle of the Warring States period, the State of Qin defeated the State of Chu, and the area around present-day Baihe County in Shaanxi Province became the territory of the State of Qin. In 221 BC, Qin Shi Huang established the Qin Dynasty. Under the county system, the area around present-day Baihe County in Ankang City belonged to Hanzhong County. During the Han Dynasty, the area still belonged to Hanzhong County. At this stage of the History of the Three Kingdoms, the Three Kingdoms of Wei shu and Wu were established, and after the Battle of Hanzhong, Liu Bei repelled Cao Cao and incorporated the region into the territory of Shu Han. However, in the middle and late Three Kingdoms period, the area was also known as the territory of Cao Wei and belonged to Weixing County. Weixing County belonged to Jingzhou, which was the seat of present-day Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, and yunxian county in Hubei Province. After Sima Yan established the Western Jin Dynasty, Zhao County belonged to Weixing County. During the Northern Zhou Dynasty, The county was renamed Fengli County, which belonged to Xiyu County, and the area around present-day Baihe County belonged to it. From the Tang Dynasty to the beginning of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, the area around present-day Baihe County belonged to Fengli County, Junzhou. Later Tang, Jin, Later Han, Later Zhou to Song, Fengli County belonged to Jinzhou (Ankang). After the establishment of the Song Dynasty, Fengli County was incorporated into Yun County, and the area around present-day Baihe County was changed to Yun County. During this historical period of the Yuan Dynasty, the area belonged to Xunyang County, Jinzhou. After Zhu Yuanzhang established the Ming Dynasty, the area still belonged to Xunyang County.

Finally, in 1472 AD, the Ming Dynasty established Baihe Fort in the eastern part of Xunyang County. In the twelfth year of Chenghua (1476), Baihe County was renamed Baihe County, named after the Baishi River in the territory, and was subordinate to the newly established Yunyang Prefecture (present-day Yun County, Hubei), and the following year it was changed to Jinzhou. As far as the Baishi River is concerned, the south bank tributary of the Han River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, originates from Hanjiashan (formerly Gefeng Township) in Nanjia Town, Baihe County, Shaanxi Province, with a length of 88 kilometers and a basin area of 807 square kilometers. In 1583, it was renamed Xing'an Prefecture and Belonged to Baihe County. In 1782, during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Xing'an Prefecture was upgraded to Xing'an Prefecture, which still administered Baihe County. In 1914, Baihe County belonged to Hanzhong Province. In 1928, Baihe County was directly under the administration of Shaanxi Province. Since 2000, Ankang District has been changed to Ankang City, and Baihe County has been under the jurisdiction of Ankang City.
