Written in the Shanghai War

After the outbreak of the "August 13" Anti-Japanese War in Shanghai in 1937, Qian Yuanjing, 20 years old, went from Shanghai to Yan'an Anti-Japanese Military and Political University to study. Before leaving, Qian Yishi wrote this message to his son.

Qian Yishi, born on December 21, 1889, a native of Qianjiazhuang, Maqiao Town, Xianning, joined the Communist Party of China in April 1924 through the introduction of Dong Biwu and Chen Tanqiu.

From 1932 onwards, Qian Yishi was hired as a professor at the Shanghai University of Law and Politics and Jinan University, where he actively united left-wing intellectuals, published periodicals, organized book clubs and social science research groups, and propagated Marxism-Leninism, and Dong Biwu called him "the best educator."

On January 29, 1938, Qian Yishi fell ill from overwork and died in Shanghai. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Zhu De sent a link with the words "Philosophers wither away" to express their deep condolences to Qian Yishi.

Under the words and deeds of Qian Yishi before his death, the eldest son Qian Yuanduo, the second son Qian Yuanjing, and the daughter Qian Yunling all became strong revolutionary fighters.

In the summer of 1938, Qian Yuanjing, then director of the United Front Work Department of the Cpc's Southern Hubei Prefectural Committee and secretary of the Xianning County CPC Committee, was captured during the "sweeping" of the Japanese puppet army. Qian Yuanjing used his own actions to write the "firmness of thought" required by his father.

Qian Yishi's eldest son, Qian Yuanduo, taught at shanghai in 1935 and participated in the "12.9" patriotic student movement. In February 1949, under the instructions of the underground party of the Communist Party of China, as a cover for the middle school instructor in Xianning County, he carried out work to welcome the liberation army to the south until the liberation of Xianning.

Qian Yishi's daughter Qian Yunling later formed a relationship with the people's musician Xian Xinghai and joined the Anti-Japanese Salvation Movement.

Qian Yishi not only raised his family to become revolutionary fighters, but Also Qian Ying's growth and revolutionary experience, which later became the first minister of the Ministry of Supervision of the People's Republic of China, were also inseparable from him.

Qian Ying, May 14, 1903, his ancestral home was Lijiazhuang, Maqiao Town, Xianning, and he was the same as Qian Yishi. In the early summer of 1923, Qian Ying finally persuaded her parents to travel far away to Wuhan to study. Under the care and support of her uncle Qian Yishi, Qian Ying got her wish, stepped into the door of the Hubei Women's Teachers' School, and completed her studies. After graduation, Qian Ying threw herself into the torrent of revolution and gradually grew into a senior cadre of the party.

An awe-inspiring intellectual, a brilliant example of a Communist, and a revolutionary legend of a Red family will always be remembered by history.
