△ In 1940, all walks of life in Yan'an warmly welcomed Mr. Chen Jiageng.
A hundred years of the Communist Party of China
From October 5 to 12, 1956, the First Congress of Returned Overseas Chinese of China was held in Beijing, and the first committee of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese was elected, and Chen Jiageng, a leader of overseas Chinese with high moral standing and high esteem, was elected as the first chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. What you are hearing now is Chen Jiageng's speech at the first session of the First National People's Congress in 1954.
Chen Jiageng: ... Today, under the wise leadership of Chairman Mao, this can be achieved.
△ In November 1940, Chen Jiageng took a group photo with all the faculty and staff of Jimei Vocational School.
Chen Jiageng was born in 1874 in Tong'an County, Fujian Province, at the age of 17, left his hometown to do business in Nanyang, and after arduous entrepreneurship, he grew from a teenager in a fishing village to a giant of overseas Chinese industry and commerce in Southeast Asia. Although far away in Nanyang, Chen Jiageng always put the interests of the motherland and the nation first. After the outbreak of the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1937, he organized the "Nanyang Overseas Chinese Relief Association for Refugees from the Motherland" in Singapore, raised huge sums of money, and ran around calling for trumpets, mobilizing more than 3,000 overseas Chinese mechanics to return to China generously, braving the rain of guns and bullets to rush to transport military supplies, winning an important turning point for China's War of Resistance Against Japan.

TV series "Eastern Battlefield":
Chen Jiageng: There are more than 200,000 old and weak women and children in Yunnan Province, but they have to rely on their shoulders to carry and carry a Road between Yunnan and Burma, which is a lifeline for the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the salvation of the country. Compatriots, there are roads, but there is a current shortage of cars in the country, and more difficultly, there are no car drivers and car repairmen. What do you say?
Wang Wensong: We overseas Chinese joined the overseas Chinese mechanic team and returned to China to resist the war!
Overseas Chinese Group: Return to China to Resist! Return to Japan to fight! Return to Japan to fight!
△ In June 1949, Chen Jiageng and Chairman Mao Zedong took a group photo in front of the Zhongnanhai Qinzheng Hall in Beijing.
In 1940, with deep concern for the future of the country and the nation, Chen Jiageng led the overseas Chinese from Nanyang to return to China to investigate, and broke through many obstacles and came to Yan'an. Mao Zedong sat at an unpolished stone table in front of the Yangjialing cave and described the future of China to Chen Jiageng, which made Chen Jiageng feel more shocked than ever. After a week of inspection in Yan'an, he returned to Nanyang and told everyone that China's hope was in Yan'an.
△ In September 1954, Chen Jiageng attended the first session of the First National People's Congress and was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
Chen Yiming, former director of the Overseas Chinese Museum: Mao Zedong said that this chicken was sent by a neighbor, and the hen was still laying eggs. This dish was grown by Mao Zedong himself. It's that simple.

TV series "Changed the World":
Zhou Enlai: Although Mr. Chen is in Nanyang, his contribution is in the motherland. Your return to participate in the founding of New China this time is really the heartfelt hope of the people of the whole country.
Chen Jiageng: Zhou Gong is too prestigious. For more than half a century, I know the wanderers abroad best. They donated money and materials for only one purpose, that is, to look forward to a powerful new China standing in the East. Because the mother of the motherland is bullied, the children who are displaced overseas cannot stand up to the waist.
