The election of the Eighth State Duma (lower house of parliament) of Russia ended on the 19th, and the vote counting work is currently underway.

According to the Russian Satellite News Agency reported on September 20, the Russian Central Election Commission has handled 60.06% of the votes. The data shows that the United Russia Party held the lead in the elections for the Federal District of state Duma with 47.16% of the vote, the Russian Communist Party in second place with 20.89%, and the Russian Liberal Democratic Party in third place with 7.9%. In addition, the top five are the "Just Russia" party (7.54%), followed by the New Party (5.77%).

In this way, it means that initially 5 political parties have crossed the 5% electoral threshold and entered the State Duma.

According to the Statistics of the Russian Central Election Commission, the candidates of the United Russia Party currently hold the lead in 194 of the 225 single-seat constituencies elected in the State Duma. Andrei Turchak, secretary of the General Committee of the United Russia Party, said in an interview with TASS that the United Russia Party is expected to win a constitutional majority in this year's State Duma elections.

In the 2016 State Duma elections, the United Russia Party won a total of 203 single-seat constituency seats, the Russian Republican Party and the "Just Russia" Party each won 7 seats, and the Russian Liberal Democratic Party won 5 seats.

Earlier, the Russian Central Election Commission released a message on the 19th that there were no serious violations of the voting election. The agency's president, Pamphilova, said, "Any breach will be discovered." ”

However, it is worth noting that Vasily Piskarev, chairman of the Committee on the Investigation of Foreign Interference in Russia's Internal Affairs, said on the 20th that the Russian side has now recorded the illegal public call in Russian from abroad and organized cyber attacks on the Russian electronic voting system. Piskarev wrote on his personal social media that the relevant committees of the State Duma are ready to ask the competent authorities to counter these violations.
