In 2013, after graduating from the Institute of Hydrobiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctorate in genetics, Sun Yanhong chose to continue her research work and entered the postdoctoral research station of the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences to become a postdoctoral fellow. At this time, the "Pioneer No. 1" project of hybrid carp of the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences has already met the conditions for the access of "new varieties" after several years of research. Standing on the shoulders of her predecessors, Sun Yanhong began to carry out research on the molecular mechanism of core breeding materials and conducted further in-depth research on the mechanism of this variety.
Hybrid carp "Pioneer No. 1" project for the red-billed red carp (commonly known as "great white diao") "out of the water is dead" technical problems, through the screening and cultivation of excellent traits for artificial breeding, the new variety of "great white diao" is not only resistant to low oxygen environment, but also good physique, rarely sick. It is understood that the core breeding material of hybrid carp "Pioneer No. 1" and "Pioneer No. 2" is black-tailed near-red carp native to the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River and is a unique economic fish of the Yangtze River. The research on this variety has been carried out by the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences for more than ten years.

According to reports, at present, the footprint of the hybrid carp "Pioneer No. 1" is all over the north and south of the river, and it has been promoted to 2.65 million mu in the country and created a direct economic value of 7.3 billion yuan.
At the national poverty alleviation summary and commendation conference, the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Maochong Village Help and Support Task Force won the title of National Advanced Collective for Poverty Alleviation.
After the success of "Pioneer One", in 2019, the "Pioneer Two" of the Turbot also passed the approval, and a new member of the "WuchangYu" family was added.
