How big is the area of rural homesteads? Standards vary from place to place. Below, the three rural loudspeakers retrieved relevant data from the official websites of various provinces for the reference of farmers and friends.

Henan Province
A villager can only own one homestead. All localities should formulate standards according to the actual situation on the basis of the county as a unit, and the area of each homestead in the suburbs of cities and towns and in plain areas with less than 667 square meters of arable land per capita shall not exceed 134 square meters; in plain areas with more than 667 square meters of arable land per capita, the area of each homestead shall not exceed 167 square meters; and the area of each homestead in mountainous and hilly areas shall not exceed 200 square meters. It is necessary to make unified arrangements for the standards for villagers' self-built housing in village planning, and in principle, low-rise houses of no more than three floors are the mainstay, and it is not planned to build houses with more than three floors. Where it is truly necessary to build housing with more than three floors, it shall be included in the village planning after obtaining the consent of the village collective economic organization or villagers' committee (hereinafter collectively referred to as the village-level organization) and stakeholders.

Shanxi Province
The Administrative Measures for the Examination and Approval of Rural Homesteads in Shanxi Province (trial implementation) stipulate that villagers' homesteads are calculated on a household basis, and a household can only own one homestead. The area of newly applied homesteads does not exceed 200 square meters per household.
Anhui Province

Within the scope of the above provisions, the municipal and county people's governments may, comprehensively integrate the location, type of land occupied, and the situation of rural population and land resources in the area where the homestead is located, and formulate the conditions for building houses by households and the standards for the area of "one household and one house" that conform to local realities.
The rural homestead area standards in other areas will be pushed to everyone after sorting out, so stay tuned.
In recent years, some places have introduced charging standards for the area exceeding the standard of homestead land, and the method of paid use of the excess area has been adopted.
Farmer friend, what is the standard of your homestead there? Is the excess area charged?
