The Tang monks' western heavenly sutras are a huge and complex project for Buddhism, and the Buddha has taken great pains to do so. It should be known that the first nine reincarnations of the Tang monks were eaten by the sand monks, so it can be seen that the Buddha sent the Tang monks to learn the scriptures, which was also full of difficulties, and was opposed by the forces of various factions.
In order to smoothly implement the plan for the eastward expansion of Buddhism, Rulai first helped the Jade Emperor to surrender sun Wukong, the great saint of Qitian, and eased the relationship with the Heavenly Court, at least the Jade Emperor was not so resolutely opposed to the eastward expansion of Buddhism.
In order to let Li Shimin, the Emperor of the Eastern Tang Dynasty in nanbu prefecture, support the spread of Buddhism, the Buddha also moved a lot of thoughts, through Tang Taizong's hell to return the soul, to take the way of one grace, two scares and three reminders, so that Tang Taizong respected Buddhism and supported the Tang monks to learn the scriptures from the western heavens.
In order not to let the original sect of the Eastern Tang Dynasty, Taoism, oppose it, Sun Wukong, a high disciple of Taoism, became the great disciple of Tang Monk. Goku is a high-ranking Taoist disciple, but he himself said that when he received the Eight Precepts of the Pig, the Great Sage himself said that he was a monk who abandoned the Tao. The addition of the Great Sage weakened the resistance of Taoism.
In order to bribe the Heavenly Garden, Buddhism also did shunshui people,letting the degraded Marshal of the Canopy become the second disciple of the Tang Monk, the scrolling general who was demoted to the Nether Realm become the third disciple of the Tang Monk, and the little white dragon, the son of the Dragon King who violated the Heavenly Rule, became the white dragon horse of the Tang Monk, which invisibly solved the remaining problems of the Heavenly Garden, and the Jade Emperor was also very happy.
As for the secret protection of the Tang monks' four-value Gong Cao, Liu Ding Liu Jia and revealed, perhaps everyone is not too familiar with it, I believe many people think that it was sent by the Buddha, and later read the Journey to the West to find that this is not the case. It turned out that the four values of Gong Cao, liu ding liu jia and the revelation were borrowed by Guanyin Bodhisattva from the Jade Emperor.
In the sixteenth journey to the west, in the "Guanyin temple monk plot treasure Black Wind Mountain Monster Stealing Robes", Goku asked the Guangmu Heavenly King to borrow a fire shield, and the Guangmu Heavenly King said: "Before I heard that Guanyin Bodhisattva came to see the Jade Emperor, borrowed the four values of Gong Cao, Liu Ding Liu Jia and revealed the truth, etc., to protect the Tang monk Xi Tian to learn the scriptures. From this, it can be seen that the four values of Gong Cao, the Six Dings and Six Jia and the revelation are the jade emperor's people, which Buddhism borrowed from the heavenly court, so the question arises, why borrow? Why did the Jade Emperor readily agree?
The procession seems simple, but in fact it hides a mystery. The second disciple of the Tang monk Rulai Buddha, the highest commander of the sutra collection team, was loyal to Buddhism, and naturally needless to say, he was canonized as a Buddha after successfully taking the sutra.
Sun Wukong was born in Taoism, and he violated the Heavenly Rules by making a big fuss in the Heavenly Palace, and it was unlikely that the Jade Emperor would accept him, in case anyone followed suit. Let him join the team of sutra collection, which is conducive to communicating with Taoism, weakening the resistance of Taoism, and even if he has climbed the relationship with Taoism, Sun Wukong is indispensable on the way to taking the scriptures, and as a result, he is also canonized.
The Eight Precepts of the Pig, the Sand Monk, and the Little White Dragon were all people in the Heavenly Court, and because they had violated the Heavenly Rules, they were degraded to the human world, and let them join the team of scripture collection, which solved some unnecessary troubles of the Jade Emperor and increased the strength of Buddhism, after all, the three of them were not ordinary people. The results were also rewarded.
So why didn't the four-value Gong Cao and Liu Ding Liu Jia who protected the Tang monks and revealed the truth not be rewarded? Let's see what they do.
The Jade Emperor is the supreme leader of the Three Realms, strictly speaking Buddhism is also within his jurisdiction, and the Jade Emperor of Buddhism also needs to grasp the detailed and true situation, so who will report to him?
Tang Monk would not, after all, he was the Buddha's concubine troop, Nor would Goku, the Eight Precepts, the Sand Monk, and the Little White Dragon, after all, he had been punished by the Jade Emperor for violating the Heavenly Rules, which the Jade Emperor did not want to see.
Of course, Guanyin Bodhisattva was clear in his heart, and he could not report every day, and he lost his identity. Therefore, the wise Guanyin Bodhisattva borrowed the Four Values of Gong Cao, The Six Dings and Six Jia from the Jade Emperor and revealed the truth, etc., ostensibly to protect the Tang monks, but in fact to act as the eyes and ears of the Jade Emperor, so that the Jade Emperor could grasp the true details of the sutra, and the reason why Guanyin did this was to eliminate the Jade Emperor's suspicions and strive to get the support of the Jade Emperor in the matter of taking the scriptures.
Therefore, after the end of the sutra, the mission of the four values of Gong Cao, the Six Dings and Six Jia and the revelation of the truth will also be completed, and it is natural that they should return to the Heavenly Court to make a mistake, and the Buddha will naturally not reward them, and if they want to be rewarded, they should also be rewarded by the Jade Emperor. Are you right?
