Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center Humanistic Light Performance Season, based on Wang Anyi's novel of the same name, the drama "Long Hate Song" was staged tonight at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center And Art Theater.
An old dream of the relics of bustling Shanghai reappears on the stage, showing the audience a picture of the customs of old and new Shanghai from the 1940s to the 1980s. For three hours and three eras, Wang Qiyao, the "Miss Shanghai" played by Zhu Jie, an actor at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, reappeared on the drama stage with love and hate, laughter and tears.

The story tells that in the 1940s, Wang Qiyao, who was still a middle school student, was selected as "Miss Shanghai" and began her ill-fated life:

In the 1980s, Wang Qiyao, who was already the year of knowing his destiny, could not escape the fate, and had a crush on a nostalgic young man named "Old Kela", with a dim afterglow and a warm heart, but he died unexpectedly and hated Huangquan...
In April 2003, the drama "Long Hate Song" was first put on the stage by the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, causing a sensation, and every round of performances since then has been a hard ticket.
In the past 18 years since the first round of performances, in addition to constantly polishing the script, each round of performances is also constantly trying to adjust and seek new breakthroughs in stage design, music, costumes and other aspects. While appreciating the classics, the audience can also feel the novelty of this classic work.
Wang Anyi recently said publicly when attending the sharing meeting of the creators of the 18th anniversary of "Long Hate Song",
"Of all the versions, the drama version is the closest to me. The beauty of drama is that it can constantly interpret new meanings. ”
Speaking of this play, Zhou Xiaoqian, a director who has participated in the creation of "Long Hate Song" for eighteen years, said:

Stage designer Liu Xinglin also made adjustments in the details of the stage design this time, and strived to be more in line with the temperament of the play. He said:

"Pretty" and "relics" form the overall vocabulary of the "Long Hate Song" stage design, in the three hours of shadow and shadow, let this drama bloom beautifully on the stage, so that there are exquisite relics of "Long Hate Song" everywhere on the stage.
Alice's apartment, old lane, old camera, old furniture, phonograph and other old objects... Combined with the characters dressed in cheongsams, dresses, suits and other characteristics of different eras, coupled with the lighting and sound effects that match the plot appropriately, let the audience follow the changes of "scenery" and "people" and shuttle through the three eras of old Shanghai.
The drama "Long Hate Song" is adapted from the long masterpiece of wang Anyi, a famous contemporary Chinese female writer, and the novel "Long Hate Song" has won the first World Chinese Literature Award and the fifth Mao Dun Literature Award.
The love and affection of a Shanghai woman for 40 years is intertwined with the vicissitudes of the metropolis of Shanghai from the 1940s to the 1980s. This novel is known as the "epic of modern Shanghai", which always causes people to think about life and many other issues such as society and history. From the novel to the stage, the creation of "Long Hate Song", which has poured the love and efforts of the creators, continues.
