In 1900, the Eight-Power Alliance brazenly launched a war of aggression against China. As a neighbor of China, Tsarist Russia not only sent troops to join the coalition army, landed in Tianjin by sea, and then directly took Beijing. At the same time, Tsarist Russia also gathered 200,000 troops in the Far East to prepare for the occupation of the entire three eastern provinces in World War I.

In this way, the Russian army crossed the Ussuri River and marched south, and the Heilongjiang River naturally bore the brunt of it. Despite the courageous resistance, the Qing army was still outnumbered. The Heilongjiang general Shoushan, seeing that the general situation had gone and the land was not protected, angrily swallowed gold and committed suicide, only 41 years old. At this time, his youngest daughter Shouyi was only 3 years old. Shoushan, although a Manchu, was a descendant of the famous anti-Qing general Yuan Chonghuan, and it had been passed down to his generation for eight generations.
Shoushan has an outer chamber named Wang Songyan, who gave birth to his youngest daughter, Shouyi. After Shoushan's death, Shouyi's mother and son suffered discrimination from their master mother and brother. There is no sister here, there is a place to keep a sister. The strong Wang Songyan did not say a word, and directly took his daughter back to Fengtian's mother's house. After that, Shou Yi changed his surname to Wang with his mother and was regarded as Wang Yajun.
In order to let Shouyi get ahead and live a good life, Wang Songyan returned to his old business and sang on stage in a drama group for his daughter to go to school. And Shou Yi was also very successful, she studied hard to know the book, and she was a rare intellectual woman at that time.
In 1917, she graduated from the Fengtian Provincial Women's Normal College and read a thank-you speech as a representative of the graduates. Standing tall and generous, she quickly attracted the attention of Zhang Zuolin, the northeast marshal who was serving as a guest on the stage. After the ceremony, Zhang Zuolin immediately proposed to Shou Yi and accepted him as his fifth aunt.
It is a pity in the eyes of the world that an intellectual woman is doing small for a big warlord with no culture. However, even so, Shou Yi was unexpected and made extraordinary achievements.
For Zhang Zuolin, marrying an intellectual is really a face-saving thing. At the same time, Shou Yi's ability in daily life also surprised and admired him.
Once, Zhang Zuolin took Shou Yi to the station for inspection. At the barracks, thousands of soldiers lined up to greet them. According to the custom, Zhang Zuolin gave a lecture to the soldiers. Because Zhang Zuolin had not read any books and had also been a bandit, his speech was naturally vulgar, and "Ma Pull a Bazi" kept on speaking. At the end of the talk, Zhang Zuolin had a sudden idea and asked Shou Yi to say a few words to the soldiers.
In the face of thousands of armed soldiers, Shou Yi did not shy away from the stage, generously praised Zhang Zuolin for his compassion for the soldiers, and said that he would give rewards to the officers and men. Shou Yi's few words aroused the soldiers' applause in unison. Her generous speech gave Zhang Zuolin's chicken head a leopard tail and let him earn enough face.
Zhang Zuolin had 6 wives, 8 sons and 6 daughters. In order to restrain the main members of the family, he strictly ordered his wives and concubines not to interfere in politics, nor to invite entrustment or install cronies. But this rule is an exception for Shouyi.
Once in Yingkou, Shou Yi found that a man named Luan Guitian was quite good at settling accounts, so he recommended him to Zhang Zuolin. Without saying a word, Zhang Zuolin transferred Luan to Fengtian as quartermaster general.
Another time, Zhang Zuolin inspected the troops and found a short soldier in the team. So he said angrily, "Ma pull a bazi, how did this little dot get into the army?" Just as Zhang Zuolin was preparing to rebuke him, someone told him that this person was recommended by Lady Shou. Who knew that Zhang Zuolin's attitude immediately came to a 180° turn, turning his mouth and praising:
"You have a lot of spirits, be a class leader!"
After the death of Yuan Pei Zhao Chungui, Zhang Zuolin would bring Shou Yi to attend whenever his wife was needed, even if she was the youngest of many aunts and wives at that time. In addition, Zhang Zuolin also entrusted the affairs of Zhang Mansion to Shou Yi to take care of.
However, it is not an easy task to manage Zhang Zuolin's big son. At that time, Zhang Zuolin's career reached its peak, and he was appointed as the Grand Marshal of the Navy and Army in Beijing, and stayed in Beijing and Tianjin for a long time. Therefore, the affairs of the base camp Fengtian were all handled by Lady Shou. However, Lady Shou was well-run and managed the Zhang mansion in an orderly manner, and Zhang Zuolin's children and wives and concubines all admired her and obeyed her. The servants, on the other hand, were also impressed by Lady Shou's generosity and fairness.
In 1918, Zhang Zuolin deliberately built an independent small building for Shouyi, and at the same time built two villas in Heping District and Shenhe District, but did not build a golden house for Shouyi. This kind of treatment is difficult for other wives and concubines to match. However, Shou Yi's emotional intelligence is quite high, and she did not swallow these properties alone, but invited the five daughters born to other wives to live on the second floor of her mansion. She lives on the first floor with her four sons, Sen, Xuejun, Xueying, and Xuequan. Later, when her daughters got married, she and her sons moved upstairs.
In addition to ruling the family well, Shou Yi also has a skill. In 1923, someone introduced Zhang Zuolin to a play named Ma Yueqing. After the fortune teller showed her the photo, he thought that Ma Yueqing was indescribable and was Wangfu Xiang. Zhang Zuolin, who has always been superstitious, was very happy to hear about this, but he was a little hesitant to take it into the outer chamber.
At this time, Zhang Zuolin was over fifty years old, and he was worried that if he took another concubine, Shou Yi would probably be unhappy and would fall into a reputation of being old and unashamed.
However, Zhang Zuolin's thoughts were hidden from Shou Yi's eyes. After she learned the news, she immediately visited Ma Yueqing and welcomed her into the palace, temporarily treating her in the name of Ya Gui, and providing conditions for Zhang Zuolin to have a substantial relationship with Ma Yueqing.
In the Second Zhifeng War, Zhang Zuolin successfully entered the pass and won a complete victory. At this moment, Ma Yueqing just gave birth to a daughter. Therefore, Ma Yueqing was more and more valued by Zhang Zuolin. As a result, the celebration banquet became a banquet, and Ma Yueqing became Zhang Zuolin's sixth aunt.
From a modern point of view, ShouYi's lack of arrogance and jealousy and "adult beauty" are really disgusting. But from Shou Yi's own point of view, it is actually a good way to consolidate his position. She knew very well that in Zhang Zuolin's world, marrying a beauty was like adding a brocade robe and a delicious meal, and there was no real threat to herself.
Perhaps compared to love, Shou Yi attaches more importance to his own career. She clearly understood that Zhang Zuolin could give up all his wives and concubines, but it was impossible to abandon her.
"Watching him rise up the Zhu Lou, watching him entertain guests, watching him collapse the building." Just as the so-called prosperity will decline, when Zhang Zuolin's career reaches its peak, bad luck will follow.
First, in April 1928, Chiang Kai-shek launched the "Second Northern Expedition", and the Feng army collapsed at a touch, and the main force was severely damaged. Therefore, Zhang Zuolin had the intention of withdrawing from North China and defending Northeast China. At the same time, Zhang Zuolin and his backstage, the Japanese, also got into a stalemate.
In order to become the overlord of the northeast, Zhang Zuolin had deep cooperation with Japan and sold a lot of profits. Although he betrayed the country, Zhang Zuolin also had a bottom line in selling. Zhang Zuolin has never let up on the japanese in building railways, dispatching immigrants, and buying houses in the northeast.
After the defeat of the Bong army, the Japanese decided to take advantage of the fire and looting. On May 17, 1928, the Japanese minister to China, Fangze, personally came forward and demanded that Zhang Zuolin immediately agree to japan's construction of the "Manchurian Five Roads" in the northeast and allow the Japanese to buy houses in the northeast. Zhang Zuolin was naturally unwilling to deal with the unreasonable demands of the Japanese side. Because his words were not speculative, Zhang Zuolin was furious, and he threw the jade pipe in his hand on the ground, pointing at Ri Kou and scolding:
Why,.
The Japanese side saw that wen could not be attacked, so it decided to take it by force. The Japanese Kwantung Army tried to see the dagger and threatened Zhang Zuolin that if he refused to comply any longer, the Japanese army would disarm the Feng army.
Just as Zhang Zuolin was preparing to leave Beijing, Fang Ze came to the palace with a treaty and asked him to sign it, asking him to fulfill the "Secret Treaty of Rizhang" signed by the Japanese side when it helped him suppress Guo Songling's uprising. However, Zhang Zuolin craned his neck and said:
"I can't betray the northeast, lest future generations call me Zhang Zuolin a traitor." I'm not afraid of anything, I'm not going to ask for this stinky skin bag for a long time! ”
In the face of the angry Fangze, Zhang Zuolin still chose to flick his sleeve and leave. In this way, the extremely vicious Kwantung Army decided to directly get rid of Zhang Zuolin.
At this time, Zhang Zuolin was already aware of the impending danger. Therefore, he brought his "lucky star" Ma Yueqing with him. However, this time, Ma Yueqing did not bring good luck to Zhang Zuolin.
At 6 o'clock on June 4, 1928, when Zhang Zuolin's special car drove to Huanggutun, Lieutenant Tetsuo Tomiya, the fourth squadron leader of the Independent Garrison of the Kwantung Army, pressed the electric button. Just listen to the "bang", 200 kilograms of strong yellow explosives instantly explode. According to news reports at the time, 20 people were killed and 53 injured.
At that time, Zhang Zuolin was not killed on the spot, but he had broken an arm and was seriously injured. The officers and men of the Feng army who were present quickly stopped a wedding car, forcibly drove the bride away, and stuffed the marshal into the car and transported it back to the Shenyang Marshal's Mansion. Although he was treated, Zhang Zuolin was too badly injured and died at 9:30 a.m. Before dying, Zhang Zuolin instructed Shou Yi:
"I'm too badly injured, I'm afraid I can't do it, tell Xiao Liuzi (Zhang Xueliang) to go back to Shenyang quickly, and do a good job!"
After Zhang Zuolin's death, Zhang Fu was in chaos. At this time, Zhang Xueliang was directing the battle on the luanzhou front, which could be described as leaderless. Several ladies and young ladies in Zhang Mansion who had never seen the world were panicked, and they could not do anything but cry about the world.
Just as the so-called tiger father has no dog daughter, after being the gatekeeper, Shou Yi shows extraordinary composure. She clearly realized that the only two people that the Kwantung Army was afraid of were Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang. If the Kwantung Army found out that Zhang Zuolin was dead, they would inevitably break into Fengtian and swallow up the three eastern provinces. Now that Zhang Xueliang has not returned, he must not leak out the news that Zhang Zuolin is dead.
Therefore, Madame Shou immediately made a decision and made three preparations.
First of all, Lady Shou was not allowed to mourn, and no one in the Zhang Mansion was allowed to cry and mourn, let alone wear plain clothes. During this period, Mrs. Shou led by example, not only without tears, but also with heavy makeup every day, as usual. And Zhang Fu is still singing and dancing, and nothing seems to be happening. Every day, Zhang Fu cooked for Zhang Zuolin as usual, and the medical officer had to enter the house every day for diagnosis and treatment.
Secondly, Lady Shou sent someone to invite Liu Shangqing, governor of Fengtian Province, and Zang Shiyi, chief of staff of the Provincial Military Bureau. Under The Order of Shou Yi, they announced the following news:
"When the main seat was returned from Beijing to Fengfeng, passing through the Huanggutun Southeast Manchuria Railway, the bridge exploded, injuring several people, and the main seat was also slightly injured, but the spirit was still good."
In addition, the "Bulletin of the Three Eastern Provinces" and the "FengtianMin Bao" have also published news one after another, indicating that Zhang Zuolin is now very safe and about to recover. At the same time, "the Beijing-Feng railway is non-stop day and night, and most of the main force of the Feng army has returned to Fengtian."
These true and false news controlled the public opinion in the northeast, and also made the Kwantung Army confused and even more afraid to attack.
Finally, Shou Yi sent a telegram to Zhang Xueliang, asking him to return to Fengtian immediately and preside over the overall situation.
However, even so, the Kwantung Army was still not dead hearted, and still sent a large number of secret agents to solve the mystery of Zhang Zuolin's life and death. Shou Yi knew the Japanese's plot, so she had to guard against it.
Just one day after Zhang Zuolin's death, ShouYi's so-called girlfriend, the wife of the Japanese consul Uchida, suddenly arrived at Zhang Mansion and said that she wanted to chat with Lady Shou.
Lady Uchida came very suddenly, and at this time Shou Yi was grieving over Zhang Zuolin's death. However, when he heard that the Japanese had entered zhang mansion, Shou Yi immediately put away Qi Rong and ordered yakuza to freshen up and dress himself. She understood that Mrs. Uchida was not just here to chat, she must have other plans.
Soon, Mrs. Shou, dressed in her usual gorgeous costume and full of spring breeze, entered the living room and apologized to Mrs. Uchida in a loud voice:
"The marshal was frightened in distress, and I just put him to sleep."
Subsequently, she ordered her adjutant to open a bottle of champagne and celebrate the escape of the marshal with Mrs. Uchida. Prior to this, Shou Yi also deliberately ordered people to put phonographs upstairs to create a happy and peaceful atmosphere.
Shou Yi's calmness and self-reliance successfully covered up the fact that Zhang Zuolin was not dead, convincing the Japanese that Zhang Zuolin was still alive. If Zhang Zuolin really died, how could Zhang Fu sing and dance so much? Although the Kwantung Army was ready for battle, it had not dared to act rashly.
In this way, Shou Yi endured 13 days of suffering, and finally waited for Zhang Xueliang's return. After Zhang Xueliang learned the news that his father had been killed, he immediately disguised himself as an ordinary soldier, concealed the heavy interrogation of the Kwantung Army, evaded the assassination of Japanese agents, and finally returned to Fengtian.
On June 21, Zhang Xueliang officially released the news of Zhang Zuolin's death, and the Kwantung Army shouted after hearing about it, but it could only be in vain. The Kwantung Army killed Zhang Zuolin, not only failed to capture the northeast, but made Zhang Xueliang make up his mind to change the flag and change the banner. In January 1929, Zhang Xueliang lowered the five-color flag and raised the national flag with red sky and white sun, which was submitted to the National Government of Nanjing. After years of division, China has finally achieved formal reunification. The Kwantung Army can be described as stealing chickens and not corrupting rice.
It can be said that Shou Yi, with her wisdom and courage, postponed the fall of the northeast for three years.
However, on September 18, 1931, the Japanese Kwantung Army launched a surprise attack and quickly captured Fengtian and the Grand Marshal's Mansion. Although Shou Yi was brave and strategic, long-sleeved and good at dancing, he could not deal with the Kwantung Army, which was armed to the teeth and fierce. So soon after the fall of Shenyang, Shou Yi secretly went to Beiping with his two sons and met Zhang Xueliang.
The fall of his hometown made Shou Yi grief-stricken. At this time, her mother, Wang Songyan, was still in Shenyang. Therefore, she desperately hopes that the Chinese army can fight back to the northeast, recover the homeland, and let the flesh and bones no longer be separated. However, sadly, until the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Shou Yi could not see his old mother again.
Shou Yi was just 30 years old when she was widowed, but she was not ready to marry someone else. And 23-year-old Ma Yueqing also volunteered to follow her. The two have been inseparable since then, becoming sisters with different surnames, and together they have survived from green silk to white hair.
After that, Shou Yi and Ma Yueqing lived in Tianjin until the surrender of Japan. At this time, Zhang Xuesen, the eldest son who studied aviation technology in the United States, returned to Tianjin and served in the garrison command, and Mrs. Shou had a new reliance from then on.
At the trial, the mastermind who blew up Zhang Zuolin finally came to justice. Kawamoto Daisaku, who planned the time of Emperor Gutun, was imprisoned in a prison in Taiyuan. By 1953, he had fallen ill and died there. And the iron captain of the Eastern Palace who pressed the electric button was also killed by the Chinese army in the war of aggression against China. This is the fate that the aggressor deserves.
After the liberation of Tianjin, Shou Yi and Ma Yueqing went to Taiwan with their three sons. Although Shou Yi and Zhang Xueliang, who was imprisoned in Yangming Mountain, were close at hand, they never had the opportunity to meet. She repeatedly asked the Taiwan authorities to write and asked to meet with Zhang Xueliang. But it wasn't until 1959 that Shouyi's wish came true.
At that time, Zhang Xueliang, who had entered his twilight years, was passing the rest of his life by raising orchids. Lady Shou is a rare hometown native of Zhang Xueliang. Every month, Mrs. Shou would bring her family to dinner with Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi, constantly telling the past of the Grand Marshal's Mansion. Sometimes, Mrs. Shou would also cook Northeastern dishes by herself and send them to Zhang Xueliang.
In the last days of her life, Madame Shou still had one thing to worry about, that is, the marriage problem between Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi. Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi, a confidant of red pink, have been together for thirty years, but they have never had a name. Out of love and admiration for Miss Zhao Si, Lady Shou repeatedly encouraged and urged them to get married.
In July 1964, in a private house on Hangzhou South Road in Taipei, 51-year-old Zhao Yidi and 64-year-old Zhang Xueliang entered the palace of marriage. There were only more than a dozen guests present, and they included Song Meiling, Zhang Qun and other dignitaries. And the 74-year-old Lady Shou is their main marriage.
Lady Shou, who was extremely prosperous and tried to ensure that the northeast was not lost, was already seriously ill. The marriage of Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi allowed her to end the last earthly thing. How she wished she could see the day when Zhang Xueliang was free again!
However, time did not wait for anyone, and Madame Shou's condition gradually worsened, even to the point where she could not walk on the ground. In January 1965, she failed to survive the winter in Taipei and unfortunately died at the age of 75. This strange woman, who almost single-handedly postponed the fall of the northeast, finally swallowed her last breath, and her remarkable performance will be passed down from generation to generation as a beautiful talk.
It is worth mentioning the sixth aunt Taima Yueqing, and her marriage with Zhang Zuolin was very short- But even so, she began to be widowed at the age of 23, and she kept the festival for Zhang Zuolin for life, and finally died in 1975. Newspapers in Taiwan commented:
"We do not encourage observance of the festival, but it is still admirable to be able to sacrifice everything for love."
