The Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang held a symposium to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution

Beijing, 18 Oct (China News Service) -- A symposium to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, co-sponsored by the China Society for the Study of the Xinhai Revolution and the China Zhongshan Cultural Exchange Association, was held at the central organ of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang in Beijing on 18 October, with more than 50 descendants of the pioneers of the Xinhai Revolution and experts and scholars on both sides of the strait attending the event.

Zheng Jianbang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, attended the forum and spoke highly of the great historical significance of the Xinhai Revolution. He said that the Xinhai Revolution opened the prelude to the modern national democratic revolution in the full sense, greatly promoted the ideological emancipation of the Chinese nation, disseminated the concept of democracy and republicanism, and promoted China's social change with great shocking power and profound influence.

At the forum, many participants talked about the Chinese Communists as the staunchest supporters, the most loyal collaborators, and the most loyal successors of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary cause. Huang Ligong, grandson of Mr. Huang Xing Chinese, a pioneer of the Xinhai Revolution, said in an interview with a reporter from the China News Agency that the Xinhai Revolution not only overthrew the feudal imperial system, but also greatly promoted the ideological emancipation of the Chinese nation. History has fully proved that the leadership of the Communist Party of China is correct and that it inherits and develops the Three People's Principles. The sons and daughters of China all over the world have seen this fact and formed a force that will surely realize national rejuvenation.

Many experts also talked about the enlightenment of the Xinhai Revolution to cross-strait relations. Zheng Qisheng, executive director and acting chairman of the Taiwan Society for Cross-Strait Reunification, pointed out: Today, 110 years after the Xinhai Revolution, the Taiwan issue is an important issue that must be resolved to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Opposing "Taiwan independence" is not a slogan and needs to be put into action. Only by educating young people from a historical and cultural perspective and reversing their thinking can we play the greatest role in opposing "Taiwan independence."

"The Xinhai Revolution is a common historical asset of compatriots on both sides of the strait. The task of unifying history, which has not been completed since the Xinhai Revolution, is now in the hands of our generation. Wang Zheng, chairman of the Taiwan Chinese Youth Development Federation, appealed from the perspective of youth to the youth of Taiwan to inherit the spirit of their predecessors, strive to let the next generation in Taiwan truly understand the history and culture shared by the two sides of the strait, and let the people of Taiwan truly realize that only reunification can save Taiwan, so as to live up to Dr. Sun Yat-sen's last wish for national reunification and the rejuvenation of China.
