The sonorous and powerful gongs and drums sound, the golden dragons churn and dance on the field, and the majestic lions jump and stomp... On May 15th, the 2021 Shenzhen First Youth Dragon and Lion Competition, sponsored by Shenzhen Luohu District Public Sports Center, shenzhen dragon and lion sports association, Shenzhen dragon and lion sports association Luohu Branch, Luohu District Wushu Association and Jingbei Primary School, was held in Jingbei Primary School.
The activity aims to promote the popularization and development of Chinese excellent traditional culture and Lingnan characteristic traditional culture among young people, promote the exchange of Shenzhen Youth Dragon and Lion Dance Sports Groups, and enhance youth cultural self-confidence and Chinese national cultural identity.
On the day of the competition, 13 representative teams from the city's ordinary primary and secondary schools and secondary vocational schools appeared successively, with high school (middle vocational) group, junior high school group, primary school group and performance group, with traditional southern lion (single lion), skill project (racing dragon dance, southern lion) and performance project (group lion, unicorn dance) and other competitive events, with a total of more than 300 participating athletes. In order to ensure the safety and order of the event, the event is conducted in a combination of live competition and webcasting.
The atmosphere was in full swing, and the participating teams competed in the championship. The dragon dancers cooperate seamlessly, are flexible and agile, showing the dragon swimming in the world, and the flying dragon in the sky, which not only reproduces the vigorous and powerful form of the dragon, but also creates a warm atmosphere of auspicious and festive. The southern lion's demeanor is exquisite, sober and clever, the routine choreography is innovative, and the athletes carry forward the indomitable spirit with the different steps of the southern kung fu, footwork and high and difficult movements such as clamping waist and sitting head, which fully demonstrates the bravery and wit of young lion dancers.
After fierce competition, Xixiang Primary School, Jingbei Primary School, Nanshan District Academy of Educational Sciences Tongle Experimental School, Shekou Yucai Prince Bay Primary School and other schools won the first prize in the 12 categories. Bao'an Vocational and Technical School and Xikeng Primary School won the Sportsmanship Award, and Jingbei Primary School and Hualong School won the Excellent Organization Award.
