According to the Hong Kong China Commentary Agency, the mainland suspended the import of pineapples from Taiwan on March 1 this year, and Taiwan's Wendan, which was sold to the mainland during the Mid-Autumn Festival in previous years, also plunged sharply under the epidemic and political atmosphere. Xiao Hanjun, chairman of the Kaohsiung Municipal Agricultural Association, said in an interview with the China Commentary Agency on the 10th that Wendan did not pick up this year, and the cost of air transportation in Shanghai was 2 or 3 times higher than in previous years, and many traders believed that the cost was not in line with the cost and the profit was compressed, and simply gave up the mainland market.

Taiwan's Wendan production this year is about 70,000 metric tons, the output value of about NT$4 billion, the current wholesale price per kilogram is maintained at NT$20 to 30. Xiao Hanjun said that this year's export market is affected by the epidemic and the relationship between transportation costs, and the low unit price of fruit is actually difficult to promote if there is no export subsidy. According to the statistics of the "Agricultural Committee" of the Taiwan authorities, in the past three years, Taiwan has sold the most fruits on the mainland, including pineapples, followed by Shakya, Lotus Mist, and Wendan grapefruit. Its Chinese grapefruit sold to the mainland in the past three years totaled 11259 metric tons, an average of about 3753 metric tons per year.
