The main line of "Everything About My Mother" is Ji Peizhen (Xu Fan) and Xiaomei (Zhang Jingyi), the mother and daughter, Zhang Xinyi plays Ji Peizhen's intercourse patient Liu Mei, a "strange woman" who suffers from cancer but is happy all day and does not recognize her life. Yangcheng Evening News: What was the reason why you first decided to take this role?
Zhang Xinyi: I initially rejected this role, feeling a little bit distant from the state of cancer patients. In my impression, people with stage IV stomach cancer are very emaciated, after all, they have received chemotherapy. If I'm going to get to that point, I'm probably going to fast and exercise for a month or two. Later, I went to meet director Zhao Tianyu, and he said that the character's requirements for appearance are not so high, and her energy is the most important. Then the director told the whole story again, and I thought it was a very beautiful and touching story, so I decided to star.
Yangcheng Evening News: Before entering the crew, do you have any expectations for the "drama" with Xu Fan?
Zhang Xinyi: I was looking forward to it, when I was in college, I especially admired Sister Fan. We also got along on set because I especially liked to watch dance shows, so I always pulled her along during breaks.
Yangcheng Evening News: The special thing about Liu Mei's role is that all her presentations are actually through the perspective of Ji Peizhen and Xiaomei, a mother and daughter. They get energy from her desire to survive and understand life once again through her death. What is your understanding of this?
Zhang Xinyi: Liu Mei is a very energetic person, and she also passed on that positive energy and hope for life to Ji Peizhen. On the other hand, although Liu Mei looks optimistic, she is always on the verge of death, so she must be afraid.

Zhang Xinyi: Liu Mei is very lonely. In the original plot, she took Ji Peizhen to her own home before taking her to the hot pot restaurant. Her home was very luxurious, but there was only one dog, and I remember a line at the time that was: "I was supposed to send it away, but I didn't think it sent me away." "When I watched this plot, tears came out at once, and I thought this woman was too pitiful.
Yangcheng Evening News: From the beginning of calling itself a "miracle of life", to later revealing the fear in his heart, and finally taking Ji Peizhen out of the hospital room to eat hot pot... How do you understand the mental journey of Liu Mei's character?
Zhang Xinyi: In the middle and late stages, I cried very badly at one point, because I thought she was too pitiful and too lonely. In fact, she has always been very brave, including her decision to use the drugs in the experiment and practice yoga in the ward, she wants to live. But there was no medicine to cure her later, so she pulled out the hanging bottle and took Ji Peizhen out to leave her gorgeous chapter behind.
Yangcheng Evening News: "Everything About My Mother" Which scene do you think is the most difficult?
Zhang Xinyi: Eat the scene of hot pot! When that scene was filmed, real liquor was used, and Liu Mei and Ji Peizhen were two people who had been talking back and forth between you and me. When we watched the replay together after filming, the director said how do you two feel a bit like a couple? Sister Fan joked: We were both discovered.
There is also the scene where Liu Mei and Ji Peizhen came back from drinking and got off the bus, there is a scene where Liu Mei gave Xiaomei the business card of the wig seller after getting off the car, and then watched Ji Peizhen's family pull her away, at that moment I felt that Liu Mei was very envious of the family's feelings.

Zhang Xinyi: The most special thing about Liu Mei is her positive energy and positive and optimistic attitude. Now many people are very stressed in life and work, so I hope that everyone can absorb the positive energy of Liu Mei and treat everything optimistically.
Compared with the past, the understanding of the role is deeper
In the past, Zhang Xinyi was a big grinning girl in the impression of many people. But after All About My Mother, people may change that stereotype. In Zhang Xinyi's view, marriage and family have helped her a lot on the road to becoming a better actor.
Yangcheng Evening News: Have you ever been troubled by your deeply rooted image of the "second sister", or even affected your casting standards?
Zhang Xinyi: I won't be bothered, because this is the real side of my life. In the choice of work, whether she is a very bold role or a very sad role, as long as the script can move me and make me feel moved, then I will choose to act.
Yangcheng Evening News: What kind of advice will her husband Yuan Hong usually give to you to take on the role, such as this time?
Zhang Xinyi: He is very supportive of me. Whether it was some decisions I made at work or in life, he was very supportive, and this time it was the same.
Yangcheng Evening News: What role does marriage and family life play in shaping your role?
Zhang Xinyi: After I became a mother, I was really happy, and compared with the past, my understanding of drama and roles will be deeper. Maybe because after becoming a mother, some things that I couldn't understand before suddenly figured out. Therefore, I have a special feeling in this story, and I can especially understand Ji Peizhen's feelings for Xiaomei.
Yangcheng Evening News: Although no one can really achieve "two balances between work and life", I still want to ask, how do you maintain this "balance"?
Zhang Xinyi: I will have a time allocation. I'll take a while to work effectively and devote myself to playing that role. The other part of the time I went back to the family and spent time with my children. Although it is also very hard to take the child, it will be because of his sentence before going to bed, "Mommy you are so good, so love you", as if all the hard work has disappeared, I feel that all the effort is worth it.
Yangcheng Evening News: Many netizens love to watch the variety shows that your husband and wife participate in, as well as your daily small interactions on Weibo, and feel real and warm. Aren't you two worried about exposing too much privacy, and what are the reasons for being willing to share?
Zhang Xinyi: I think it depends on personal choice, some people like to share, some people don't like it. And I happen to fall into the category that I like to share. I think things are interesting and memorable, and I want to share them with my friends and fans who like me.
Yangcheng Evening News: I heard that recently you are working hard to get on the stage of drama. What is the biggest challenge for you on the drama stage?
Zhang Xinyi: I am a newcomer on the drama stage, and the biggest challenge may be that it can't be NG, you have to devote yourself to the plot and the characters, rehearse over and over again, until you completely hold the characters and interpret them very skillfully and completely.
