"East Palace, West Palace" is the debut work of Zhao Wei and Hu Jun on the big screen, director Zhang Yuan's 1996 film based on gay love, the script is based on Wang Xiaobo's novel "Like Water Tenderness".
The content of the film seems simple: a park in Beijing is a place for gay people to date at night, and Xiao Shi (Hu Jun), a police officer at the police station near the park, will go to the park every time he is bored on night shifts to arrest one or two interrogators, and when they explain various "activities", he will reprimand them for a pastime.
One night, when he goes to arrest people again, Alain (Si Khan), who wants to refuse to return the favor, is stayed in the duty room by him.
