Yang Yaling He Yirui wiped out a lot of details in this way, plus some improvisation, and turned the story of JiZi and Yigui into a dog blood drama, and readers will inevitably think that it is a bitter love.

In fact, in the original Japanese version, Tsukiko's emotions are much more complicated. For example, the part of crying after the fire holding a statue is more because of the cherishing of the statue itself. It was because of this statue that she found her life goal - to become a prop stylist. The statue commemorates her survival value (stylist's career) more than it commemorates her reproductive value (the bondage of green plum bamboo horses). Her grief comes mainly from the destruction of the items themselves (including a large number of other items she has made), and the unhappiness with Ichigo's relationship is a secondary factor, not a major factor.
The reason for her return to Japan is the same, first, because her pursuits are in serious conflict with her parents' expectations, so she gambles to run back to Japan to find study and work opportunities with the artists she admires.
