author:Guangming Daily client

On the afternoon of October 19th, the last activity of Beijing Reading Season Reading Station into the countryside walked into Xiongerzhai Central Primary School in Pinggu District, bringing the theme reading activity of "The Greatness of Life, the Glory of Death - The Story of Hero Liu Hulan" to the whole school.

The short and glorious life of revolutionary martyr Liu Hulan has inspired generations of young people. This lecture, with Liu Hulan's heroic deeds as the core, led the primary school students to learn the stories of the martyrs and sing praises together. At the beginning of the activity, Mr. Dong Qiao, the editor of the "100 Red Classics" series of books, led the children to relive "Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China", and traveled back to the revolutionary era in the form of songs.

Chen Xiangping, former deputy director of the Liu Hulan Memorial Hall and president of the Shanxi Women's Heroic Martyrs Research Association, once said: "Under the influence of the revolutionary atmosphere and the family atmosphere, Liu Hulan grew up very quickly and understood early on how a person can live a worthwhile life and die meaningfully." In the course of the lecture, Teacher Dong Qiao took the children to learn liu Hulan's heroic deeds together, and explained in depth how Liu Hulan went from a child of a peasant family to the road of anti-Japanese resistance. The students were drawn to the story, thought hard about it, and interacted with the teacher after the lecture.

After the lecture, the students went to the mobile book cart by the playground, selected their favorite books in front of the book cart, and read them carefully. In this event, the organizers specially selected the "Loudest Song", "Red Rock", "Shining Red Star" and other high-quality picture books and literary works suitable for primary school students to read, so as to meet the children's reading needs. The children gathered around the book cart and flipped through the books, and the atmosphere was warm.

Although this event is the last reading station in the countryside in this year's Beijing Reading Season, the pace of the reading station will continue, and in the future, a variety of reading activities will be carried out to promote the expansion and extension of reading to the grass-roots level.
