Vultures generally live in highland areas and are the largest type of raptor on plateaus. Adult vultures have dark brown down feathers from the forehead to the posterior occipital area, sparse black-brown hairy short feathers on the sides of the head, cheeks, and ears; they have black-brown slim feathers in the eyes, and the upper part of the hind neck is bare and featherless, light blue.

The vulture's large, hooked mouth makes it easy to peck and tear apart tough cowhide, dragging out heavy offal to eat. Although the wingspan of the adult vulture is more than 2 meters long and 0.6 meters wide, its flight ability is not very strong, mainly glide.

Adult male vultures are between 1100-1150 mm in length and around 5750-8500 g in weight; adult female vultures are between 1080–1160 mm in length and between 6000-9200 g in length and weight in the leading position among all birds of prey.

Vultures are widely distributed in northwest Africa, southern Europe, Spain, southern France, Romania, the Balkans, northern Arabia, Central Asia, Iran, Afghanistan, western Himalayas, India, Mongolia, Russia, Turkey, Tajikistan, China and other countries and regions.

Vultures inhabit low hills and alpine wastelands and forests in wild rock meadows, valley streams and forest edges, often alone, sometimes in groups.

Vultures are carnivorous birds of prey, often feeding on the carcasses of large animals. Vultures are very cautious when eating the carcasses of large animals, and when they find a (head) animal lying alone on the ground, they do not rush to divide the body, but first carefully observe each other's movements, if they find that the animals lying on the ground are not moving, they will continue to hover in the air and look at them for about two days, and when they confirm that the animal lying on the ground is dead, they will attack the dead animals.

In general, vultures do not hunt animals easily when they are not very hungry, and once they are very hungry and unable to find the carcasses of animals, they will look for targets and wait for opportunities to hunt small mammals such as hares, amphibians, reptiles and birds. However, because large animals are not easy to hunt, if not particularly hungry, vultures will not attack larger animals such as deer, sheep, roe deer, etc.

However, just a few days ago, a herdsman from the Xilingol League in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region called the public security bureau for help, saying that one of his sheep had been attacked by five or six vultures, and that all the internal organs of the attacked sheep had been eaten by vultures. The scary thing is that the vulture herd refuses to fly away after eating the sheep's internal organs, and it is very likely that they will continue to attack the livestock of other herders. It is therefore hoped that the civilian police will take effective measures to quickly disperse the vulture herd so as not to cause harm to the livestock of other herders.

After receiving the alarm from the herdsmen, the police quickly arrived at the scene. However, the courage of this group of vultures is really too big, although the police have adopted the way of honking the siren of the police car and tapping the metal objects to drive away, but this group of vultures is still unwilling to leave, helplessly, the police had to release four or five "flash mines" to the vultures in the sky, under the "shock" of the "flash thunder", the vultures left sadly.

According to the herdsman in the Xilingol League, the current vultures are not only bold, but also particularly ferocious, and once they "aim" at a (head) animal, they will launch a cluster attack on the animal until the animal is killed. Therefore, many animals today are very afraid of vultures, and once they see vultures, they will flee in panic, and vultures have truly become aerial killers that frighten animals, and are ferocious birds that all herders should take seriously.
