According to Tang Jing, there are 7 new butterfly pattern specimens in the Dong'an Butterfly Museum that are unique to Shunhuang Mountain and are extremely rare in the country.
On the same day, the National Science Popularization Day, the county science and technology association held the opening ceremony of the national science popularization education base - "Dong'an Butterfly Hall" at the main venue of the activity of Dong'an First Middle School, and announced that it was open to citizens and students free of charge, which was widely welcomed. In the Dong'an Butterfly Museum, I saw many citizens and students visiting it. All kinds of colorful butterfly specimens have aroused the amazement of citizens and students, and everyone may stop to watch or take photos, and praise is endless. From time to time, the crowd shouted praise: "Wow! So pretty, butterflies are so beautiful!". The staff of the Butterfly Hall also introduced to the public and students the growth habits, species, protection measures and 7 new butterfly species found in Shunhuang Mountain, Dong'an County.
According to Li Yiyao, a butterfly specimen collector, Dong'an Shunhuangshan National Forest Park has rich butterfly resources, and 324 species of 153 genera in 11 families have been identified. Seven new species of butterflies have been discovered, and 3 specimens of unknown butterfly species are awaiting identification, which is a miracle in the history of butterfly research. The Dongan Butterfly Museum houses 375 specimens of Dongan butterflies, accounting for about a quarter of the known butterfly species in the country. Among them, 7 new species, such as The Leope xiangnanensis Li, the Neptis sunhuangensis Li, the Rapaladonganensis Li, the Euthalia ehuangensis, and the Zhou Hehua Grey Butterfly (Howarthia choi), are unique to Dong'an Shunhuangshan, and their type specimens are preserved in the Dong'an Butterfly Museum. Extremely rare.
It is understood that Dong'an County was rated as the first batch of 2016-2010 national science popularization demonstration counties, Dong'an Butterfly Hall was listed as a national science popularization education base, which is of great significance for improving the scientific literacy of the whole people, zero distance understanding, and protecting rare butterfly species in Shunhuang Mountain, and is also one of the key projects of the county's vigorous implementation of science popularization demonstration projects.
