Kaijiang County Forestry Bureau: Strengthen the census of harmful organisms to promote the improvement of the "three major" benefits

Sichuan News Network Dazhou, June 1 (Deng Huihong) Kaijiang County forest pest census work was launched in December 2014, the county designed a total of 55 survey lines, 13 fixed survey points, 12 flying sowing areas, 20 townships and key forestry industrial parks, important nursery land, wood processing chiefs, wood-related units distributed in the county's 12 flying sowing areas, 20 townships and towns, key forest areas and forestry industrial parks, important nursery land, wood processing chiefs, wood-related units. Up to now, the county has completed the survey of the owner outside the inspection route and fixed points, the collection of forestry pest data, and the collection of specimens. Field survey data has been uploaded to the Sichuan Forest pest census information management system, and supplementary surveys and internal work are in full swing. This census has effectively promoted the improvement of the "three major" benefits.

Boost economic benefits. Olive oil and ginkgo biloba are the leading industries in the development of the county. In recent years, due to large-scale development, disease and pest disasters have occurred from time to time, resulting in a reduction in production, which has plagued growers and affected the healthy development of the industry. The county took advantage of the technical strength of this census to carry out a special survey on the "two trees". Through the investigation, it was found that the diseases and insects that had the greatest impact on the "two trees" were: ginkgo leaf blight and the dark-cheeked golden turtle that harmed the ginkgo biloba leaf, and the large-grained transverse ditch elephant and termites that harmed the trunk of the olive tree. The experts of the census team provided valuable pollution-free prevention and control technology for growers on the spot, effectively controlled the spread of diseases and insect disasters, and recovered economic losses for the county's forestry industry.

Boost social benefits. Diseases and insect pests are very serious natural disasters in the process of forest growth and development, and international major forestry quarantine pests such as pine wood nematodes are "smokeless forest fires". However, before experiencing heavy losses, people did not have enough understanding of the control of forest pests, did not raise them to the same level as natural disasters such as fires and floods, and did not recognize the danger of disease and insect disasters and the devastation of ecological and economic development. In the process of this census, the technical personnel, while investigating, guided production and publicized the knowledge related to forestry pests, so that the broad masses of people have a new understanding of forestry pests, and laid a solid foundation for the scientific prevention and control of diseases and insect pests in the development of the forestry industry.

Boost ecological efficiency. The county has a comprehensive understanding of the basic situation of the types, distribution, hazards, hosts and other aspects of forest harmful organisms in its county, which plays an important role in establishing a scientific and effective emergency defense mechanism, effectively carrying out prevention and treatment, helping the development of the forestry industry, maintaining the county's forest resources and maintaining ecological security, and promoting the construction of ecological civilization.
