Jane's confused studio, in Yizhuang, just outside beijing's fifth ring road. The studio is a simple studio, divided into several areas by Suna and Gabriel, and the sparrow is small and complete. Every corner of the studio is filled with Jane's mysterious whimsy, just like their work: a desk made of table tennis tables; a tennis ball making sound insulation mats; and a one-man tall "one-eyed dragon" toy bear that guards the room.
In 2010, at one point, they were even ready to give up making music and "fled" Beijing, the musical soil that once made them take root and grow. In France, they do a lot of "leaving the music" things, and they want to try to express their hearts in other languages. These things include, but are not limited to, video, animation, text, and photography.
In 2014, they found that in fact, they are still inseparable from music, and they cannot do without music, the most primitive expression of human beings. Then go back to Beijing, which once nourished itself, and bring new friends. A few people do something interesting, not limited to music, after all, the world has long been diverse.
Jane is now in the studio and has four main members. The language spoken in the studio most of the time is French, and in parts it is a mixture of French, English, Chinese. Jane's confused Suna and Gabriel are naturally the main members, and they are also the core members of this small team. The other two resident friends are the French girl in charge of illustration and the French boy who has his own opinion on video production. Together with a number of visual artists, photographers, illustrators, etc. with working connections, they form their studio. The name of the studio also shows their determination to fight - "wild manufacturing". Speaking of this, Suna smiled and pointed to the business license standing in the corner of the wall and said, "We are registered, serious studio, not fooling around." ”
Jane is confused about who is also
Many people don't know much about Jane, so let's briefly introduce this combination. Jane is a band formed by Chinese girl Suna and French boy Gabriel. Jane's bewildered work is full of whimsy, whether it's their music or the self-directed and self-produced MVs, not to mention Suna's fictional works. Gabriel, who is not good at Chinese, also supports Suna in his own way. Since the establishment of Jane, the lead singer Suna's singing ability has been questioned, and many musicians have been critical of its unstable pitch problem. Lead singer Suna did not receive formal music theory training, nor did she have deep singing experience, and she never thought of forming a band, and she entered the music circle confused when Gabriel was deeply involved in the termination storm. After recovering from illness, he continued to be proud, writing poetry, forming a band, falling in love, and every day he was busy like the president of the student council, but he did not do anything serious. In every interview, I ask one of the most mundane questions – "How do you balance life and work?" Suna's answer was the most truthful I had heard in all my interviews.
Suna's answer was: "Unbalanced, because the balance is not good." "People in the entrepreneurial period really don't have the right to live. After all, work is the focus of life now. Besides, for them, work is a part of life. Their whimsy is a part of life, and is there anything happier and more life-like than working on them with their own hands?
The most important part of life is to eat, and Suna, as a Sichuan girl, also cooks a good meal. She proudly admitted that the meals cooked in France were praised by the French. Gabriel, who grew up in france, a country of gastronomy, loves Chinese food the most. Who doesn't love hot pot? Lively, free, complex and simple, rich in variety.
To be honest, Gabriel is a bit like a hot pot, warm, inclusive, and rich inside. Gabriel barely spoke because of language problems in the interview, and during the time of Suna's interview, he silently restored the studio furniture that had been moved during the shooting, brushed the used cups, and wiped the floor. Not to mention playing your own music in order to enliven the atmosphere during the shooting, posing for various poses, and taking the initiative to cooperate with the photographer's work with various props.
