On the afternoon of December 18, Leiyang City held a meeting of leading cadres of the whole city. At the meeting, Chen Jing, member of the Standing Committee of the Hengyang Municipal CPC Committee and director of the Organization Department, read out the decision of the provincial party committee and the Hengyang Municipal CPC Committee on the appointment and dismissal of the principal responsible comrades of the Leiyang Municipal Government: Comrade Wu Xudong was appointed as a member, standing committee member, and deputy secretary of the Leiyang Municipal CPC Committee and nominated as a candidate for mayor of the Leiyang Municipal People's Government; Comrade Li Xiangyang no longer holds the posts of deputy secretary of the Leiyang Municipal CPC Committee and mayor of the Leiyang Municipal People's Government. Luo Qiong, member of the Standing Committee of the Hengyang Municipal PARTY Committee and secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Leiyang Municipality, presided over the meeting. Li Xiangyang delivered a resignation speech, and Wu Xudong delivered a speech on performing his duties.
