Everybody: During the 1997 World Cup, drug dealers wanted to murder Paraguayan national Chiravit

According to the Daily Sports, former Colombian international Fastino Asprila recalled in his personal documentary that a drug dealer had proposed to him the assassination of Paraguayan national Chiravit.

The incident originated in April 1997, during paraguay's home match against Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers in France, when the match progressed in the 76th minute, Colombia's main striker Asprila and Paraguayan goalkeeper Chiravet had a violent physical confrontation, and both sides were sent off with red cards. In the end, Paraguay defeated the visiting Colombia 2-1.

After the game, a drug dealer whom Asprila knew traveled to the hotel where the Colombian team was stationed. Inside the room, the drug dealer offered him the idea of assassinating Chilawite and asked for Asprila's permission, along with his Colombian teammate Aristi Sabal.

At that time, Asprila was so surprised to hear this proposal that he replied, "How can you do this?" It's crazy! This is tantamount to murdering Colombian football. What happens on the football pitch can only be left on the pitch, you can't do that. ”

Commenting on the situation, the player, who had played for Parma and Newcastle, added: "It's a complex topic and it shouldn't be in our world. ”

Fastino Asprila, born in Colombia on 10 November 1969, played as a striker as a player and was known for his speed and strength. He has played for Clubs Kucuta (Colombia), National medellín (Colombia), Parma (Italy) and Newcastle (England).
