"36 Days of Chinese Rescue and Desperation" is based on the real events of "Qilu's Most Beautiful Safety Guard" and Captain Liu Jinhui of the Mine Ambulance Team, telling the story of the mine rescue team leader Zhang Yi (Mou Fengbin) leading the rescue team to rescue the trapped underground miners, under the leadership of the rescue commander Gao Feng (Gong Hanlin), after 36 days of difficult excavation, perseverance, and successfully rescued the miners who were 200 meters deep underground.
At the pre-screening press conference, director Wang Liang said that "real" and "true feelings" are what he most wants to express. During the filming of the film, Wang Liang was often touched by the dedication and sincerity of the actors. The temperature in the deep winter of Jinan is minus six or seven degrees, and when filming the scene of the mine gushing water, the actor has to soak in the cold and bone-chilling water for a whole day, and the camera trembles uncontrollably as soon as he takes his hands and feet away. Recalling the scene at that time, director Wang Liang was touched by the spirit of the whole group of people fighting.

Lead actor Mou Fengbin said that the crew restored the scene during the mining disaster, when the actor had to go down to the depth of 240 meters underground, "sometimes the underground stayed for more than ten hours, although the ground temperature is below zero, but the well will be very stuffy, the whole body is sweaty." Gong Hanlin, another lead actor in the film, said that he hoped that this significant film would become a classic.
