Universities are the cradle of cultivating talents and the paradise for building artistic dreams, and college students' drama and campus drama are important parts of theater art. In 2001, a group of college students from Chinese University, Beijing Institute of Technology and other universities, with the leadership and support of the Beijing Dramatists Association, opened the prelude to the first college student drama festival in the 21st century at the Beijing Renyi Small Theater, and the Beijing University Students Drama Activities have since opened a new process of going out of the campus and integrating into society.
In 2008, the China Drama Association founded the China Campus Drama Festival, which led the college student drama festival to a higher standard, and at the same time continued the inclusiveness of the college drama festival, becoming a national drama event welcomed by teachers and students of colleges and universities across the country. Today, the College Student Theatre Festival, which has been named "Golden Hedgehog", has gone through twenty years. In the past 20 years, a total of 32 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, more than 1,100 universities, more than 1,300 drama clubs, 275 plays, 25,000 college students, more than 100 experts and professors and more than 1,000 volunteers have participated in the "Golden Hedgehog" activities, and the radiation population has accumulated more than 600,000 people.
The College Student Drama Festival has grown into a campus cultural exchange platform that cannot be ignored and has become an important part of contemporary Chinese drama. In the period of development and transformation of Chinese theater, it not only cultivated a new audience group and led to the vigorous development of Chinese drama in the new century, but also used the theater festival as a platform to help the comprehensive youth creative group become the creative force of Chinese contemporary drama and enrich the stage performance of Chinese contemporary drama.
A few days ago, under the guidance of the International Department of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the "New Century Campus Drama International Forum" co-sponsored by the China Dramatists Association and the Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary and Literary Circles, and undertaken by the Beijing Dramatists Association, experts and scholars from China, Japan and other countries jointly reviewed the development process of campus drama and exchanged experience in the development of campus drama in different countries.

College students acting in drama is the cradle of Chinese drama
"If there's one thing that's indispensable to campus life, I think it must be drama." The campus is the soil that nurtures ideological progress, and college students are the leading force for ideological emancipation. At the forum, Su Sheqin, a second-level inspector of the Beijing Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, said that college students' drama is the cradle of Chinese drama and has always accompanied the development and growth of Chinese drama. Countless excellent theatrical works such as "Black Slave Calling Heaven" and "In the Silent Place" have first moved from the campus to the whole of China. College students naturally like to express their emotions and demands in a dramatic way with the power of action.
Perhaps the stage conditions are simple, but the college students are enthusiastic and passionate, and they use sincere emotions and simple performances to depict dreams on the stage and fly youth. In the new century, more and more college students have fallen in love with the art of theater. They have their own drama company and devote themselves to the creation of drama.
"Drama has a unique advantage in campus art." Drama director, educator and member of the Chinese Dramatists Association Lin Yinyu said that the drama has no strict requirements for the natural attributes of the participants, there is no gentle singing voice, the proportion of the body with short legs, not the palm width and finger length, can not cross the 8 keys, weak color, incomplete five tones, poor hearing, not beautiful and not delicate... Such ordinary people can also participate in theatrical play. It is especially important that it is human nature to play. Any social person will subconsciously or unconsciously freely switch between different identities. Therefore, drama is more grounded and worldly than other art disciplines, and it is the easiest to get started. As a result, campus drama can also occupy a large proportion and proportion on the university campus and enjoy more attention.
As Hikari Echihito, a professor of stage performance at Kirito Gakuen Art Junior College in Japan, puts it: The value of student theater and art lies in being able to work authentically on creation itself without having to consider commercial factors. It is precisely under this innate advantage that the campus provides the simplicity and purity that the artistic creation of theater is most needed. "The purity and passion in college student drama is also the essence of drama." Feng Yuanzheng, a drama actor and vice president of Beijing Renyi, pointed out that young students should always maintain their passion, never forget their original intentions, and promote the progress of Chinese theater with the most authentic, simple and unique expression.

It shows the spiritual outlook and aesthetic pursuit of contemporary college students
Yue Guangguang said that in the university acting class he teaches, he will first give students a self-portrait title and ask them to create a one-man show (monologue play). "Because I hope that every student needs to face themselves before playing others, that is, before playing the role that is given, while experiencing their own life, they need to explore what kind of endowment they have, and then they play others and play the role they are given." Drama and other content-oriented literary and artistic works determine that in the process of creation, the creator must first understand life, comprehend life, and then give his own thoughts to the work, which also determines that the dramatic works reflect the creator's ideological outlook, personality breath, ideals and beliefs to a certain extent, and college student drama is a spontaneous creation of college students by their own feelings, which can better reflect this.
"Campus drama activities are like a mirror that allows us to glimpse the spiritual outlook and aesthetic pursuits of contemporary college students." Feng Yuanzheng pointed out.
"The campus drama itself has enlivened the campus atmosphere in which college students are located and enriched campus life; the interpretation and rehearsal of Western dramas have broadened the artistic horizons of college students; the creation and rehearsal of contemporary realistic dramas has promoted college students to pay attention to social phenomena, explore social issues, ponder life, human nature, and the living conditions of people and people; the exquisite and profound classic drama works of ancient and modern Chinese and foreign countries have attracted campus drama people and drama participants, and have promoted the guidance of young people to understand the historical connotation and the mysteries of life." Lin Pointed out.
College student drama has contributed to the new generation of figures for the theater stage and provided a support force for the future theater stage, and from these figures, we can clearly see the healthy upward and in-depth thinking of college students in the new era.
"Campus drama is undoubtedly a pure land, in which college students experience life, experience themselves, and find telepathy about happiness. Most of the college students who are active on the stage today may choose to engage in other professions in the future, but the experience they gain from acting activities will provide them with a lot of life lessons, and society has also gained confidence in the times and the future from the drama practice of college students. Song Baozhen, director of the Drama Research Institute of the China Academy of Arts, pointed out.

An indispensable force for the prosperity of theatre
As Feng Yuanzheng said: "Campus drama makes people look forward to the future of Chinese theater. "Theatre festivals have played an important role in attracting and encouraging theatre creators on campus and discovering outstanding theatre talent." Some theater lovers have since embarked on the road of specialization, and Huang Ying, Zhao Miao, Shao Zehui, Wang Chong, Gu Lei, etc., who are now active on the theater stage, are all theater talents who have stood out from the big drama festival, and they are continuing their theatrical ideals with excellent works. Feng Yuanzheng said.
More importantly, these campus drama activities have also cultivated a large number of high-quality theater audiences, which have contributed to the construction of the theater ecology on campus and even in the whole society.
Yang Qianwu, vice chairman of the Beijing Dramatists Association, pointed out: The purity of college students' drama creation and the vivid expression of their ideas are surprising. Compared with the slump of some professional theater troupes, campus theater is full of vitality and hope.
The college students' drama festival provides an important platform for opening up the renewal path of drama popularization education in the new century, and is becoming an indispensable existence for cultivating the theater culture market and promoting theater culture. Hu Wei, professor of the Department of Drama and Literature of the Central Academy of Drama, pointed out: College students' drama has gone out of the campus, gone to society, and integrated into the professional theater field, breaking the so-called professional and amateur barriers that have been formed for a long time, promoting and disseminating theater culture, cultivating several generations of young theater audience groups, and laying the foundation for the establishment of an ecological chain for the development of theater culture.
Many of the creators who are active in the "Youth Theater Festival" are important forces in the drama of former college students. Tao Qingmei, a researcher at the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that Lü Xiaoping, as a teacher at the College of Literature of Nanda University, has taken the drama and film and television majors of Nanjing University as the front, not only promoting the development of professional playwrights such as zhu Yi and Wen Fangyi, students of that year, but also promoting the creation of students at Nanjing University in the contemporary theater environment. Zhou Guangwei, the screenwriter of the campus drama "Chen Shijia", graduated from China University of Mining and Technology and entered the institute of local drama, and the play "Six Memories of Fusheng" cooperated with the Peking Opera House was widely acclaimed.
As Yang Qianwu summed up: College student drama is a youth force in the body of drama that is not dominated by business and consumption, and it can maintain a pure and detached artistic attitude and maintain a large primary creativity, thus providing unique spiritual nourishment for the theater ecology. College students are a rising group of young intellectuals, they represent the future of the motherland, and their academic and artistic temperament will greatly affect the future direction of literature and art. The enthusiasm and dedication of college students to drama will affect the future fate and future of theater. We earnestly hope that the new generation of college students will live up to expectations, surpass themselves, have the courage to take responsibility, and inject vitality into the future of drama in the new era.
