Shuanggou Wine Cultural Tourism Zone is located in Shuanggou Town, Sihong County, the ancient winemaking town of Sihong County, the boundary between the climate of north and south of China - the bank of the Huai River, the confluence of the three counties of Suwan and Anhui Provinces, known as "chickens chirping in two provinces, wine ripe and fragrant three counties", with a long history of winemaking.

Through the visit to the "Drunken Ape Island", it is learned that the Shuanggou area is one of the birthplaces of human civilization, where there have been shuanggou drunken apes about 18 million years ago and human ancestors "Xia Cao Wan people" about 40,000 years ago.
In 1977, experts from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences excavated the fossils of ancient apes in the Caowan area under Shuanggou and named them "Shuanggou Drunken Ape".
Experts speculate that the ancient ape man of 18 million years ago became a fossil of tens of millions of years later because he swallowed the naturally fermented wild fruit liquid and became drunk. It can be seen that the natural conditions in the Shuanggou area are an excellent place for winemaking.
The history of winemaking in the Shuanggou area began with Yin Shang, prosperity in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and prosperity in the Song and Ming Dynasties.
As early as the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the winemaking techniques in the Shuanggou area had matured and became a production and trading center for Koji wine. It has the reputation of "three thousand miles north of Hebei, the first one in Jianghuai".
In the early 1980s, a large number of wine utensils and "farming map" portrait stones from the Western Han Dynasty were excavated around Shuanggou, all of which demonstrated the origin of winemaking in the Shuanggou area at that time.
The excellent winemaking environment and mature winemaking technology have brought unprecedented prosperity and development to the wine industry in the Shuanggou area.
The predecessor of Shuanggou Liquor Industry began in the eighteenth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, and The Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang ordered the crown prince Zhu Biao to lead Wenwu Qunchen to Yangjiadun, nearly 20 kilometers away from Shuanggou (6.5 kilometers from Ancient Sizhou), to build the Mingzu Tomb, and then brewed mingzuling tribute wine in the Zhu family ancestral hall of Shuanggou Town.
At that time, Zhujiagoufang had a long history as the designated production wine factory for the Imperial Tribute Wine of the Ming Dynasty.
Entering it, walking through the koji-making room and the sake brewing house in turn, the nine processes of liquor ancient winemaking come into view, and finally you are shocked by the ancient cellar pond group.
The ancient kiln ponds are hidden in the Treasure Cave, the light in the cave is dim, and through the glass windows of the cave walls, you can see the rows of ancient kiln ponds, which are actually wine altars, and two-thirds of the altars are buried in the soil. It looks very vicissitudes and quaint, and people can't help but wonder if there is still alcohol during the period.
According to reports, these ancient cellar ponds have been used since the eighteenth year of Hongwu, and have a history of more than 600 years, and are known as "living cultural relics" in the history of Chinese winemaking.
At present, Shuanggou Wine has more than 1,000 ancient cellars and ponds that are more than 300 years old, which has become a major spectacle in the Chinese winemaking industry.
At the same time, it also has the world's largest underground conjoined pottery wall wine cellar, which is commonly known as the wine sea in the liquor industry. The cellar is composed of fifty-one monomer cellars of different volumes, with a total storage capacity of more than 10,000 tons, which has won the Guinness Book of The Great World.
Unfortunately, such a large "wine sea" can not be witnessed with their own eyes, and it is also confused through the glass window. But the stone outside the wall that is engraved with the words "Guinness of the World's Best" is very striking.
