The upgrading and reconstruction project of the North Black Railway, as one of the top 100 projects in Heilongjiang Province, will help open up the "big channel" of China's resource and energy cooperation with Russia and the "main artery" of north-south transportation in Heilongjiang Province.
Separated only by a Heilongjiang River between China's Heihe River and Russia's Blagoveshchensk, it is the only pair of largest, closest and most functional counterpart cities on the Sino-Russian border. The new Heihe Station and Sunwu Station will be important railway hub stations from China to Blagoveshchensk in Russia, and an important historical witness to the friendly development of China and Russia.
The upgrading and transformation project of the North Hei railway is one of the top 100 projects in Heilongjiang Province, an important project of "two new and one heavy" construction and development, and the "No. 1 project" of major transportation infrastructure construction in Heihe City. The new Heihe Station and Sunwu Station will become a road that benefits the whole city, radiates the surrounding areas, and connects China and Russia, so that Heihe City will play a more important role in the important nodes of the "Belt and Road" China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.

The construction of the new Heihe and Sunwu station buildings began on March 23, 2021, and the main body capping lasted 204 days as of today. The new Heihe Station is medium-sized, with a total construction area of 16,832.4 square meters, and compared with the current station, a passenger tunnel, a passenger platform and a passenger flyover are added. The newly built SunWu Station Building complex has added two new platforms, and the passenger flow has increased from 200 to 600 in the old station building.
In the difficult environment of strict epidemic prevention and control and a long rainy period, the construction unit recovered the effective construction time and finally successfully completed the capping at the planned construction period node. At the construction site, the workers are lashing the grid structure, in order to ensure the progress of the winter construction project, the number of construction workers on the site has been increased, and the operation process of white and black and two shifts has been adopted to start the winter construction.
