Shaoxing, September 25 (Zhongxin Network) -- On September 24, at the "2021 Masters Dialogue - Hometown Dialogue Conference" held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, scholars of Lu Xun's culture in China, Japan and South Korea discussed Lu Xun's book "Hometown", looking for cultural nostalgia, building a bridge for Exchanges and References between Chinese and foreign civilizations, and jointly seeking a "spiritual hometown".
This year marks the 140th anniversary of Lu Xun's birth and the 100th anniversary of the publication of Lu Xun's book Hometown. Created in 1921, "Hometown" is based on Lu Xun's real life experience when he last returned to his hometown of Shaoxing, full of nostalgia, sorrow and hope in his heart, and the words also show his will to fight for the awakening, liberation and rejuvenation of the nation.

"Hope is nothing to have, nothing to have. This is like the way on the earth; in fact, there is no road on the earth, and the more people who walk, the more it becomes the road. The passage about the road mentioned at the end of "Hometown" has aroused strong repercussions in China, Japan and South Korea.
In this regard, analyzing the reasons why scholars from China, Japan and South Korea are interested in Lu Xun, Dong Bingyue, president of the China Lu Xun Research Association, said that this is due to a sense of identity, and the fundamental reason lies in the huge social background behind it. Because of this, Japanese and Korean educators have included Lu Xun's "Hometown" in middle school textbooks in order to resonate with Lu Xun in the search for a "spiritual hometown".
It is true that combing through the circulation and development of Lu Xun's "Hometown" in Japan, the famous Japanese scholar Fujii Saidao said that since 1953, Japanese people who have received compulsory education have read Lu Xun's "Hometown", and the structure of disappointment, frustration and hope in the work has brought positive forces to many progressive Japanese.

According to Park Jae-woo, a professor at the University of Foreign Chinese in South Korea, Among the Chinese writers included in Korean textbooks, Lu Xun's works are the most.
The reflections on "road" and "hope" in the works are also Lu Xun's literature and thoughts that profoundly affect the suffering history of Koreans being colonized by Japan, making Koreans highly resonate with Lu Xun's thoughts.
The conference was hosted by the Lu Xun Cultural Foundation, the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Shaoxing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, and the Lu Xun institute of World Culture of Beijing Language and Culture University, guided by the Publicity Department of the Shaoxing Municipal Party Committee, and supported by Xianheng Hotel.
