Once upon a time, there was a martin jr. who was born in the "Little Italy" of New York City. Because he suffered from severe asthma since childhood, he could only stay at home all day to spend his days reading books, and the only happy day he could go out was to be led to the cinema by his father. In order to make little Martin happy, his father bought the first TV in the whole neighborhood for him, and little Martin held all kinds of movie tapes to watch all day long, and then picked up a notebook to draw and draw on various scenes, relying on movies to imagine the outside world that could not be touched.

Martin Jr. had an enlightened father and a talking mother, and from the moment he had his first camera, he had been focusing on them all the time. Later, Martin's camera never left his hand, and the two of them have been accompanied by this and have been appearing in their son's various films.
Little Martin grew up, but he had always sincerely hoped to become a priest, and he mistakenly entered the New York University Film School and returned to the film path he loved, which was probably god's best arrangement for him. As a result, Martin's parents, the large number of American movies he watched, the Italian immigrant areas he loved, and his devout Catholic faith became the treasures of his creation.
Perhaps inheriting the talent of his mother's words, young Martin had a strong desire to tell. Not only did he complete his school assignments, but he also went on to take his camera with him to every event: he made documentaries for the anti-Vietnam war protesters marching on Wall Street, he filmed documentaries for the most famous Woodstock Independent Music Festival in the United States... He wanted to record everything he saw in the images.
Martin's love and sensitivity to the language of images led him to constantly explore and experiment with the symbolic language of cinema in school. A student assignment, Shaving, may be too experimental, but Martin succeeded in portraying a distorted spiritual world with visual elements such as red and white.
As a teenager, Martin became an adult, and he brought the eighteen martial arts he honed in school and the harvest of his attempts at all images into his long-form film creation. A "Taxi Driver" hit the streets of New York and made us feel the strong impact of Martin's images.
Perhaps because of his nagging problems, his films always seem a little cumbersome and verbose from time to time, but Martin always has the ability to see the clouds at the end of the film, tearing apart the complex humanity for us layer by layer. Whether it is his early masterpieces "Taxi Driver", "Angry Bull", or the middle and late "Infernal Walker" and "Forbidden Island".
I almost forgot that while he continued to create excellent feature films, he still did not forget to continue to shoot a lot of documentaries: there was Bob Dylan, The Beatles Harrison, the Rolling Stones concerts, and even a few hours of world film history, what an energetic guy.
At this time, Little Martin has long since become old Martin. He did live up to expectations and was given the name of the old naughty boy. But no, he never resists any type of film and television shooting, as long as there is something fun to do, he wants to participate in a leg. He also did not forget to play to the advantages of his veteran film fans, and played with tickets to shoot some small short films. "The Key to Aging" is a short film that parodies the aesthetics of Hitchcock's films, in which he claims to have obtained a three-and-a-half-page script that Hitchcock has not yet filmed, and tries to restore this "legacy" using Hitchcock's own style, and while we are still amazed by his amazing reduction, he does not forget to laugh at himself: how he is with the master's skin.
In this way, the old Martin has never been willing to put down the camera in his hand until now, his love for using images to tell stories has gone deep into his bones, the desire for continuous exploration and innovation of video language has gone deep into his bones, the study of film masters has gone deep into his bones, and his desire to explore any subject continues.
Old Martin is such a guy who never gives up studying and does not let go of movies all his life.
