From 2010 to 2015, Downton Abbey aired a total of six seasons, broadcast on ITV in the UK and PBS in the US, becoming one of the most popular TV series in the world.

Written by Julian Ferros, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Downton Abbey revolves around the aristocratic "Grantham family" and their servants who live in a mansion in Yorkshire.

Downton Abbey, which runs from 1912 to 1925, tells the story of many crises in the Crowley family. The love story of the old Earl's three daughters, Mary, Edith, and Sybil, as well as the gradual changes in the post-Edwardian way of life and the story of servants.

The first season of Downton Abbey began with the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, an event that gave the Earl of Grantham a new heir to the title, Matthew Crowley. Originally a lawyer and an outsider, he suddenly found himself part of the Grantham family and the ruling class. Matthew was emotionally confused, and his relationship with his father-in-law, Lord Robert, was initially controversial.

In the second season of Downton Abbey, Matthew, Lord Robert, and many servants are drafted into World War I. Meanwhile, Sybil and the driver, Tom, have a romance and marry against the family's wishes, while Edith finds herself unlucky in love.

The shocking deaths of Sybil and Matthew in the third season of Downton Abbey changed the course of the show, and Rose McClair, a cousin of the Grantham family, joined the cast. In the fourth and fifth seasons of Downton Abbey, she gradually depicts the decline of the British aristocracy and the great changes in British society.

Mary and Edith both had tear-jerking romances, but both failed. The same is true of the driver, Tom, who is now a widower and has a daughter with Sybil. Meanwhile, Lord Robert's maid Bates falls in love with the maid Anna, and although they eventually get married, their relationship faces many dramatic obstacles. Similarly, Carson the butler and Hughes the butler develop romantic feelings and get married.

At the same time, the changing times affected the health of Lord Robert, who eventually accepted that his way of life was coming to an end, but the old countess still boldly represented the old nobility.

Downton Abbey ends happily with the Crowley family, with Lord Robert eventually ceding control and management of Downton Abbey to his heir Mary and his wife Cora. Lord Robert had many difficulties in keeping Downton Abbey profitable, but with the help of the modern ideas of Mary and his son-in-law Matthew and driver Tom, Downton Abbey was eventually better managed. However, the changing times still damaged Lord Robert's health. Due to the extravagant lifestyle, he got a stomach ulcer, but it was not properly handled.

Downton Abbey takes place in 1927, about 18 months after the end of the series. The most exciting event in the film is the announcement that George V and Queen Mary will visit Downton Abbey. It's a grand event where all the characters will return to the family after so many changes, ready for their royal guests. What makes the film unique is that in the TV series, much of the plot is unfolded by infighting between the Crowley family and their servants. With the visit of the royals, a new scene was created in which the nobles upstairs and the servants downstairs had to unite to restore the glory of Downton Abbey, worthy of the arrival of the king and queen.

While the cast of the sixth season of Downton Abbey will reunite, the film will also introduce some new characters, such as the old Countess's old rival cousin Lady Maud. Unfortunately, some of the audience's favorite characters in the more than two-hour Downton Abbey will not return. Still, four years after the show's end, Downton Abbey is a must-see for millions of fans.
