The Power of the Present: Are you often obsessed with the past or worried about the future?

author:Kafka loved to read poetry

The Power of The Moment is an inspiring book. Are you constantly dwelling on the past or worrying about the future? But you live only in the present moment that is happening, only in the here and now. If you document your worries, you'll find that most of them won't happen in the future. Such concerns, then, are meaningless.

The Power of the Present: Are you often obsessed with the past or worried about the future?

The things of the past cannot be changed, and the things of the future have not yet arrived. Even some of you can't decide, so why think about it? It is because of our thoughts that our emotions move naturally. Even we can't control it. Our thoughts make us poor and sick, and only by realizing that a pause in thinking can radiate strength from within and attain great inner satisfaction.

We naturally recall the things that have hurt us and summarize the causes of the injuries. This is very much in line with the trend of evolution, because our ancestors knew how to reflect, how to seek advantage and avoid harm. In order to survive in the harsh environment of ancient times. But the talents that were beneficial at the time have become harmful now. On the one hand, our ancestors lived in an extremely harsh environment and must have good relations with others. If you don't have a good relationship, it means living in an isolated group, which means death. And now the various service facilities are conducive to a person's survival. But our instinct to value good relationships with others has been preserved, and the instinct to recall and reflect on hurts has been retained. The fact is that no one can maintain a good relationship with everyone, and there will certainly be hostile people. (Maybe it just doesn't look good). No one's life is smooth sailing, no pain. Reflect on the pain, learn from the pain, and gain strength. This is valuable. But it doesn't make sense to let go of instinct and indulge in a sad past. And it will hurt itself further. And focusing on past sad emotions is not conducive to accomplishing the present.

The Power of the Present: Are you often obsessed with the past or worried about the future?

We dwell on the past and imagine the future because the past determines who we are? Having a sense of identity, future goals determine your current actions, and there will be a sense of good satisfaction. These two feelings also allow us to indulge in the time created by the mind. But the truth is that the present moment is all you can have. There is never a moment when your life is not in the present moment. All your past problems are illusions of the mind. It's your obsessive-compulsive thinking that makes you so miserable.

So how can we get rid of the "trap of thinking" and live in the moment? When you become an observer of your mind, you will easily enter the present moment. Right now, you focus on the next thought that arises in your mind and wait carefully. Or focus on the inner body. Silently feeling, attention from the feet, to the legs, to the abdomen, to the chest to the top of the head. This is the mindfulness exercise. It can strengthen your immunity, and the more awareness you put into your body. Your immune system will become stronger. It was as if every cell had been activated and jumped. Your body's attention, it is equally a strong self-healing system.
